4 Ways To Gain Momentum Blogging

Think About It…

Blogging is a great way for people to reflect their ideas and pursue their interests. Basically, when people blog, it means they keep an updated online journal, diary or some other type of communication with others.  In fact, if you look over my blog, you will see that while I have a number of posts or articles, I would think you could easily term many of my posts “Lee’s journal for the day.”

In other words, we blog for a variety of reasons — including business.  After all, this is an “attraction marketing” blog with an emphasis on the foundational importance of self development as a means of:

  • Expressing who we are.
  • Attracting who we desire to attract.
  • Giving value to those that we do attract.
  • And advancing in our chosen area(s) of acquiring revenue!

The following are four ways to make your blog “magnetic” so that visitors or customers keep coming back to your blog – whether you’re an individual, or a business.

Four Ways To Gain Momentum For Your Blog

Tip Number One: Keep It Updated

One way to keep visitors coming back to your blog site is to update your blog on a regular basis. Hopefully, readers will stay loyal to blogs that are updated on a regular basis (that is, if they are updated with quality content!).

The key: you don’t want your readers to lose interest.  Here’s how I feel about it: strive to be loyal to your purpose, the people you are attempting to reach, and hopefully that will “pay off” in terms of people returning to read the content on your blog.

Oh, and by the way…

Give me your feedback if you like: either below or send me an email (writeleewise(at)gmail(dot)com and let me know the types of things you enjoy here, any positive feedback for improvement, etc.  That would be cool!

Tip Number Two: Participate In Web Communities

Participating in web communities or discussion forums and mentioning your blog in your signature and profile can help keep readers coming back to your site. In addition, you can gain new contacts, be a “value provider,” etc.

You can also be loyal to the blogs of other writers: Leave quality comments about their site frequently and you often find them visting your site in return. If you have mutual interests and the same type of readers, you can even share your blog links on your site.

Tip Number Three: Write With Intent (Target Your Interest Group)

Another great way to keep blog readers coming back for more is to understand who reads your blog — or who desire to read your blog — and write content that targeted to that group of people.

  • Use the language of your group (which, in my personal estimation is “your language” — i.e. your unique style said in a way that will be complementary to those you are trying to reach).
  • Appeal to their personal and professional interests.
  • Definitely include the ability for them to make comments so you can learn more about your readers, thank them for reading your material, and reflect gratefulness for their contribution(s) to your discussions.

Tip Number Four: Include Related Keywords In Your Posts

Use key word in your posts.  I’ve got a ways to go here, but you this may help in terms of your “search engine discovery.” By way of example, as you read down this particular post notice the words “blog” and “blogging” sprinkled out throughout the article.

Not overkill. Just “subject key word friendly.”  Of course we all know that should you get ranked higher in the search engines, the better it is for people visting your blog.  As I mentioned, I’ve got a ways to go in this area but I think it is good to think about it at least:  I try to keep learning myself.

In Summary…

Summarizing…

  • Update on a regular basis.
  • Participate online in a variety of ways — with a special attention to commenting on blogs.
  • Focus on your purpose and related target group.
  • Including related keywords.

Simple Thoughts On Family

Family Attraction Marketing Work At Home

Simple Thoughts On Family

Experiencing true family says much about true values and the value of true relationships.  A play on words? Yes. But a play that’s worth striving for in our lives.

While thinking about “family value,” I just created this brief quote:

Family

Caring enough to share.

Feeling enough to care.

And sharing enough to love through it all.

© Lee Wise

Simple Thoughts.  Simple Observations.

“Lee, why the Christmas outfit? It’s not even Halloween or Thanksgiving yet?”  True.  But in searching for a picture for the post it — among other things — the eyes.

And, primarily, the bright eyes of the baby.

That’s what it’s all about, right? Creating brightness in the hearts of loved ones so that the eyes reflect the brightness of the relationship?

As a husband, father and grandfather one of the special joys of my life has been seeing the “bright eyed moments” of my family.

You love to see “bright eyes” on the happy occasions and eyes become bright again following a not-so-bright time in a loved one’s life.

Question

What do you do — as an attraction marketer, work at home mom or dad, or entrepreneur of any stripe to create “bright eyed moments” in the hearts of those you love and/or influence?

Is it somewhat self-convicting to ask something like that?  Of course.  I don’t claim to be any where even near “arrived” or perfect on that side of the relational or family shore of life.

But value it I do, value it I have, and I value it enough to have prayed for it or worked for it in one form or another over the years.  Have I had to seek forgiveness when I’ve failed and move through the pain of failure?  Yes.  And, on the other hand, have I had a hand in bringing about the “bright eyed moments” of those I love and care for? Again, yes.

Not perfect. Just trying.

Another Question

Are you trying?  Especially if you are in a high demand time of life relative to those you love and serve.  It’s a simple question, really.

Not meant to cause guilt.  If you’ve read what I have written most anywhere you know I lean into grace and away from undeserved, over the hill type guilt that seems to lead nowhere but down.

However, it’s still a good question.

Since, technically, this is a blog with a self development foundation designed to encourage and inspire most anyone — but especially those in one form or another of internet marketing, attraction marketing, network marketing or what ever term you might want to use — since that is the case, I might ask you:

  • Are you trying with same level of concern to create a “bright eye on the inside” as you are at attempting to get a qualified, targeted response? Of course I know you can’t spend the same amount of time on each.  I realize that and am not implying an “equal/equal” time frame. It’s a heart question. And, frankly, I would say that if the acquiring the lead means more than does creating bright-eyed moments for those we love, then we’d better get in step with what’s most valuable.  Look at the picture.  What if that child’s life could be filled with hundreds more of those moments because we tried to create them? Again, like a broken record here, I’m not talking about perfection: just value, effort and releasing over time.
  • Does your speech tend to create “bright eyed moments” or moments of frustration, failure or even discouragement?  Dads can be incredible discouragers on this end of the stick: short, quick on demands and low on affirmation.  Of course, moms can as well, but in my way of thinking dads do struggle with anger and at times can be very low on the communication scale of building up, encouraging conversational styles. Bottom line: if the “bright-eyed” speech patterns is reserved for the customers, coaching clients or prospects and rarely heard by those closest to me: something is drastically out of balance.

One More Time

Family

Caring enough to share.

Feeling enough to care.

And sharing enough to love through it all.

© Lee Wise

A Big Thank You!

Chances are I don’t know you.  I don’t know who you are, where you called home growing up or where you may be headed in life.

But if you got this far in the post and you happen to be one of the many — and I do mean many — who have been trying for the better part of your life to create those “bright-eyed” responses in the lives of those you love, care for and influence, than please accept this big, sincere “Thank You!” from a guy you don’t know.

I do thank you and many — myself included — applaud your efforts.  Your actions may have not been noticed or seen by many, your words heard by way less than a few, and the number of hugs given only counted by a handful.

And should that be the case, accept a “silent round of applause” from a guy named Lee and many others I am sure!

That’s It!

“The family must have been that guy’s heart today” you say while reading this.  ”Yes, absolutely” would be my quick and affirmative reply.

I sat down, wrote the quote, and you just completed reading the results.  I hope you feel it was worthwhile.  I know it was for the author!

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

Parenting Fathering Online Marketing Work At Home

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

While this post will not qualify as being the longest creation on the subject of being a dad, I believe it holds weight in the category of being important.

In actuality it came about as a result of my taking a look at a variety of the movies I was checking out from what I could call “the back office” of Simple Truths (yes, I am an affiliate in case you are wondering).  At any rate, I played the brief “movie” you will see below my quote, and it certainly grabbed my attention.  For me, it could be termed a “gripping” presentation.

So…

I decided to post it here.  The quote I created several years ago.  I believe it was around 2003 in fact.  Yes, I still feel the same. It is an incredible privilege and responsibility being a father as you can see from several of my other posts.  In fact, if you are in business of any sort and happen to be a dad, I would encourage you to click here to read my longer post on the subject of building your home while building your business.

Being A Dad
© Lee Wise

Knowing…

The pleasure and the pain
The good and the not-so-good

The glad times and the sad times
And everything else in between

Only to find yourself saying the
same thing again and again over
the years:

“I love being a dad.”
“I really do… love being a dad.”

If You Are A Dad, I Would Say… Definitely Watch This Movie!

“Bringing It Home” As They Say…

Reflecting on the brief presentation… powerful wouldn’t you say?  And with that in mind, we could ask or comment…

  • How am I doing as a dad on the “time scale” of life with my family: should be, could be better or hardly ever?
  • Realizing that I need to spend a great deal of time on other things, am making sure that I am sharing quality moments — moments where I am being careful to encourage, uplift, carefully listen, use what I would call “the ministry of touch,” and otherwise let the family know of my deep love and concern for them?

Questions For Excellence – On The Power Of Story

Attraction Marketing Self Growth Online Training

Questions For Excellence…

On The Power Of Story

Excellence For Business.

Excellence For Life.

Recently I jotted down several questions to keep me motivated, learning and growing as a life coach.  These were my observations from an excellent article on The Coaching Mindset by Kendall Silva.

I feel these questions may help whether you are:

My Question For You Today…

“How can I capitalize on the Power Of Story today?”

Think about it:

  • Could I ask others to share their story in a creative fashion? Or, simply ask to hear their stories?
  • What types of questions could I design to bring the positive, life affirming stories of others to the forefront?
  • Could I ask someone to share their story in my teaching, influencing, training, online marketing, or part of my questioning in the context of a coaching time?

Your Turn!

  • Think of a story that has impacted your life.  Short, long, or in between: it doesn’t make a difference.
  • Could it be shared with someone you for encouragement, growth, training, teaching or inspiring?
  • Could it be the beginning of a “how to” article, blog post, slide presentation or a short video?

A Brief Quote To Consider

On The Power Of Stories

Stories can become

someone’s inspiration for today, hope for tomorrow

or learning for the moment.

May we use their such power often,

use it well, and use it for every noble purpose we can imagine.

9 Things That Matter With Our Kids – Winning At Home While We Work From Home

Win At Home Work At Home

9 Things That Matter With Our Kids

Winning At Home While We Work From Home

This will be a short, but very thoughtful post:

  • Simple, yet far from simplistic.
  • Meaningful, yet not way out of touch with reality.

Several Suggestions

  • Take a quick read through the list.
  • Pay attention to any immediate responses of any nature.
  • Read through the list one more time.
  • Pause longer any time your heart says “Pause.”  In other words, it’s your home we are talking about here and should your heart say, “Listen,” my personal suggestion would be to do just that.
  • Think about any actions you may desire to initiate.
  • Reflect on any attitudes or actions you may desire to modify or stop.

9 Things That Truly Matter As We Relate To Our Children

In my opinion, the following things matter: as in “really matter” while in the process of relating to our children.

I don’t want to win at designing and putting into practice a marketing funnel, attract hundreds of people to my downline as an attraction marketing guru, seeing hundreds of prospects respond to my business blogging efforts, and…

Lose at home.

  • Not now.
  • Not later.
  • Not ever.

With those thoughts providing the backdrop for my post, I feel that these 9 things matter:

  1. Enjoying childlike delights with our children before our children no longer delight in being just that: children!
  2. Paying attention long enough to truly understand — yet caring enough to make any necessary corrections once all is truly understood.  (Or, reversed, caring enough not to make the expected correction!)
  3. Responding to immaturity in a mature way instead of allowing immaturity to reign on both ends of the age scale: our child’s and ours.  (Example: while shopping at the grocery store this past week I witnessed an older man yelling — and I mean yelling — at a younger child and the lady who was with him.  Absolutely insane, immature behavior.)
  4. Being silly when I can.
  5. And being fun when its not cool to be silly!
  6. Making (and taking) time to listen when it’s the child’s time and not just “my time” as a parent.
  7. Being big enough to sincerely say, “I was wrong.”
  8. Sensitive enough to ask, “Will you forgive me?”
  9. And courageous enough to correct my ways in the process.

Time To Respond…

  • Did any thoughts or ideas stand out?
  • Did you take any time to pat yourself on the back?  i.e., when “slid by” one of the comments because you knew you were doing pretty good in that area… did you either reflect in gratefulness for that realization and even celebrate a bit?  You can, you know!
  • Where did you catch any of those all important “heart pauses”? And, what do you feel we were the significance of those pauses? As I write this question, should you happen to be a faith based individual, the following brief prayer came to mind:

Father, may my heart sense

where Your heart is leading me at this time, during this day,

and may I follow that lead for all the right reasons: Your reasons.

PrayingSimple by © Lee Wise

  • Caution: would you happen to be being a bit too harsh on yourself in reading through that list?  True, truth is truth, but so is balancing things in truth.  Of course we can be too soft with ourselves at times: all of us realize that fact.  In fact, the following could apply as well…
  • Caution: would you happen to be responding a bit “less” than you should in any place?  In other words are the traffic signals working but the driver isn’t paying that much attention?  These last two “Cautions” are obviously meant to provide that word that often is difficult to obtain: “balance.”  (Have I figured that out? You know the answer!)

On Raising Children

May I win where it counts,

Lose where I should,

And possess the wisdom to know the difference.

Using the Power of Five to Enhance Your Life

The Power Of Five!

Using the Power of Five to Enhance Your Life

Either actually — or in your mind — I would like you to scan an area of your choice: preferably a work area such as a home office or something similar.

Not, yet however!

I want you to take a mental scan of your area choice from a very specific vantage point.

Scan With This Perspective

Survey your location with this perspective in mind as you do:

”As I scan my ____ (office, work space, etc.) what ‘productive something’ could I do in five minutes?”

  • Not the next five minutes.
  • Any five minutes.

It could be anything.

  • Calling someone,
  • Putting a file folder away,
  • writing yourself a reminder
  • Or taking a refreshing five minute read.

It just needs to…

  • Take under five minutes
  • And in your mind it should be “a productive something.”

That is, the action should carry with it a sense of emotional worth; some level of emotional significance.

Ready? Go!

Now Here’s What I Like About What You Discovered

Assuming you really did what I asked, you just experienced “the power of five” in your life.

You identified that which was…

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Held some level of meaning for you.
  • And could be accomplished in five minutes or less.

“Nice!”

I say “nice,” because of the simplicity and power of what that simple exercise could mean for you at times.

  • You choose the time.
  • You choose the focus.
  • And you “go for it” for only five minutes of your time during any given day.

As you are mulling this over in your mind, allow me to repeat what I mentioned seconds ago.  This is…

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Can hold some level of meaning for you.
  • And is accomplished in five minutes or less.

Brainstorming With An Open-Ended List

Expand your imagination about a variety of tasks or activities that could be accomplished in five minutes or less.  What I am terming “productive something” moments.

Travel down the ideas below.  Add your own.  Be creative.  And try it!

If you thought through various concepts or categories, what might come to mind? Categories such as the ones below (or others you discover during your short journey down the page).

Organization

  • What could you organize?
  • Could anything be put away?
  • Any clutter be cleaned up?
  • What about labeling a file folder and filing a piece of information?
  • Dusting maybe?

And your ideas would be…?

Inspiration, Motivation Or Refreshment

  • In five minutes or less, what could you bring into your world or call to your attention that might inspire you, motivate you or bring a moment’s refreshment into your busy day?
  • Do any books come to mind?
  • How about a song, picture or object of some sort?
  • Yoga, deep breathing, stretching, pushups or five minutes of other exercise?

And your ideas would be…?

Ideas

  • Could you have an “idea break”
  • Fun ideas, business ideas, family ideas, etc.  Think ideas by “category” as those I just mentioned for you.

And your ideas would be…?

Blessing Others

  • What could you do in five minutes or under that would encourage or bless someone?
  • Send a note, give them a call, send a text?

And your ideas would be…?

Stopping And Slowing Down

  • Could you meditate or reflect?
  • What about writing only one thought in a journal?
  • Could you stop long enough to enjoy something small?

And your ideas would be…?

Be Creative

  • Could you create a quote, or thought to use for training others?
  • What about reviewing a quote that meant something to you?
  • And what about looking for a cool place to take your husband or wife?
  • Could you find a picture of that blog post you will create later?
  • In five minutes or less could a meaningful personal affirmation be created… or at least begun?
  • Write down one idea for that next article.  It doesn’t have to be 50 ideas, right?  Not now.  This is just your “power of 5” time! Could you?

And your ideas would be…?

Bring Something To “Completion”

Would you consider bringing part of task to a close? Do it!  Wrap it up, shut it down, and bring that part to a close!

You Got It!

By this time — in the even that you stuck with me this far, lol — you totally get the idea!

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Holding meaning for you.
  • In five minutes or less!

Attraction Marketing Excellence – Common Sense Insights On Climbing The Success Ladder

The Ladder Of Success

Today I am sharing with you a guest post from Natasha Nassar.  Recently she engaged her readers regarding some personal thoughts on the topic of being a successful business person.  In her article entitled Climbing The Ladder Of Success, Natasha’s story woven in with her insights made for some great reading in my mind.

Before Your Read…

  • Settle down.
  • Relax.
  • Take in the story involved.
  • And see how you could help yourself or others who may find themselves somewhere on the playing fields of their own business adventures.

Here ya go…

Climbing The Ladder Of Success
by Natasha Nassar

Where are you situated on the ladder of success?

Are you jumping from the bottom rung of one ladder to the bottom rung of another ladder, or are you climbing up?

Mr. Glankler And The Success Ladder

A close friend of my family, and the co-founder of one of the oldest and largest law firms in Memphis passed away a few years ago. He was one of the most well-respected individuals in all of Memphis, and I would venture to say in Tennessee. He was a “great” man, a term I reserve for people who dedicate their lives to making a difference in the lives of others and living their lives in an honorable way.

I learned so much from Mr. Glankler over the years, and a lot of it came in the form of mottos. One in particular, on the topic of success, is so powerful that I just had to share it with you. He said:

“The ladder of success

is only crowded at the bottom, so keep climbing, but with honor”

When you think about it, everyone who joins a business does so with the intention of succeeding. When they do so, they are at the bottom of the success ladder.

The statistics don’t lie. The vast majority will stay at the bottom of the ladder, while only a small percentage will climb up to the top of the ladder and attain “success”.

For the most part, the difference in the person at the top and the person at the bottom isn’t that one is a “super recruiter” while the others are simply doomed to fail. Not all “successful” people are 100% extroverts blessed with the gift of selling.

So, what makes the difference in success and failure?

They Don’t Quit

As the old saying goes, “Successful people do what unsuccessful people are unwilling to do”.

The successful people don’t quit. No matter what is thrown their way, they continue to climb the ladder.

The “rest” crowding the bottom of the ladder CHOOSE to be there.

  • They make the choice to remain at the bottom every time they choose to watch TV over attending a training seminar or reading a book to improve their business.
  • They make a choice to remain at the bottom every time they read a great training book, and then choose to leave it at that: instead of taking the action steps recommended in the book.
  • They make that choice when they decide to spend their valuable time researching whether or not their company is doomed for failure instead of spending their time building their business.
  • They make the choice to stay at the bottom when they choose to quit at the first sign of adversity.

Sadly, those who hop from business to business THINK they are hopping “up” the ladder, when in fact, they are hopping from the bottom rung of one ladder to the bottom rung of another.

They Grow In Honor

Another important aspect of Mr. Glankler’s motto is moving up the ladder with honor.

Mr. Glankler was a true man of honor. He was wounded on the island of Peleliu fighting for our country at the age of 17. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his valor. He was a brilliant trial-lawyer who dedicated his life to helping those who couldn’t defend themselves. Even after he retired in 2004 at the age of 78, he kept a watchful eye on justice by parading the banner of injustice in regard to predatory lending. He helped to pass the Predatory Lending Bill in Tennessee.

In everything he did, Mr. Glankler conducted himself honorably. This is what made him a great man.

That’s why it’s of the utmost importance to me (and hopefully to you) to grow your business in an honorable way.

  • Don’t hype the opportunity to prospects,
  • Don’t fudge the time and effort it takes to succeed in this business,
  • Don’t exaggerate income potential.
  • Don’t value the power of the buck over the well-being of another individual.

If you know someone is in a desperate financial situation, I wouldn’t go for the sale if you know they don’t have the ability for whatever reason, to do what it takes to succeed…unless you let them know on the front end that it takes time and effort to get the money rolling in.  I would (and I have) told them to get a job first if possible.

Help steer them in the direction of an opportunity to perhaps start for free, and then purchase the “deluxe package” once they have generated enough money.

And most of all, if you know the business isn’t a right fit, don’t be afraid to say “no” to the prospect. At the end of the day, you’ll feel better for doing the honorable thing.

The Moral Of My Story

The moral of the story: continue to do the daily tasks necessary to build your business, and I’ll look forward to seeing you at the top of the ladder of success!

Editorial Comments On Nataha’s Post

For those of us involved in network or attraction marketing, I decided to include a handful of my responses to her fine points:

  • It was personal: Her observations, appreciation and applications came from within.
  • The power of story was evident. We love stories!
  • It was character based. High standards were lifted up.
  • Sample responses were given so that the reader could use and grow both personally and professionally.

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
