Defining Our Purpose. Refining Our Lives.

Success On Purpose Purpose In Life

“Defining Our Purpose.

Refining Our Lives.”

First Thoughts…

Dealing with topics related to the direction of our lives, life purpose, and our values are issues of tremendous importance.  May the brief comments below assist you as you continue to refine and live out your own reasons for living.

What’s Your Target In Life?

What’s Your Target for Life?

Targets may signify great importance in your lives.

By way of example…

If we target the completion of a great relationship with the intent of making it work over the long haul: the “win” can hold a huge meaning for our lives and the lives of others.

Should we target the investment of our time, talents and energies into motivating others to join us in the task of giving people in underdeveloped countries safe and clean water to drink, the “win” can be huge in terms of both personal fulfillment and the beginning of a new life for many others.

If we set our emotional sights on hitting the target of helping children read, educating the next generation of leaders, or being the best possible mom or dad, becoming the best salesman in the force, gaining the victory of the life-is-so-fast-and-I-am-going-to-break-out-of-the-race syndrome…

If we set our sights on these and any other heart-felt targets, the benefits to our lives can be enormous.

In the book Success On Purpose by ER Haas and Kent C Madson, the authors use these words quite frequently:

  • Happiness
  • Satisfaction
  • Significance

And they wrap these words around a single “target” which I believe it is important for all of us to pursue:

The identification and and subsequent pursuing

of our purpose in life:

our supreme “target” in life.

With that focus in mind, let me ask you a set of questions to begin our thinking for this New Year (no, I have not “arrived” in these areas: they are good for me to reflect upon as well.):

  • Have I clearly identified my own purpose in life — or various purposes according to my roles — or am I in the process of doing so? Where am I on that journey? Where should I be in that journey?
  • Related to the comment above, have I formulated a personal mission statement to help guide me in the pursuit of the life I desire to live? Would I like to do so? And if so, what would I assign as a target date to begin my effort?
  • If I were to take more than a few moments of my life to think about the words “happiness,” “significance” and “satisfaction” and how they might play out in terms their realization in my life, what journal entries would I make? What insights might I gain in that simple exercise that could move me forward in my experiencing of those most important terms?

The most cherished, heart-felt targets of our lives so often:

  • Set direction
  • Determine behavior
  • Define parameters
  • Reinforce vision
  • Produce desired results

All the best to you in this New Year and all the years to follow in any and all of your individual “target generated” endeavors!

Personal Success

The ongoing process

of becoming who I desire to become

during the many and varied moments of my day.

Attraction Marketing Excellence – On Giving Water To People Who Need It

Attraction Marketing Excellence

“On Giving Water

To People Who Need It”

It’s All About Making An Impact

You might ask: “What on earth does giving water have to do with attraction marketing or any kind of online business?”  And I would answer that it flows naturally from your sharing with others about who you are, your values and how you plan on forging ahead as you strive for success in both life and business.

In an earlier post I stated that “We Do Leave Something Behind” when I was talking about creating and leaving our legacies to world in which we live — and which we will leave someday.

Very recently, we learned about charity:water and decided to create a time sensitive campaign (92 days left as of this posting date) to help raise water in developing nations.  The name of our campaign is 5 Bucks For 10,000.

5 Bucks For 10,000

Let’s talk about water for a moment.  (Facts I learned from charity:water).

  • Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s one in eight of us.
  • The UN predicts that one tenth of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply and sanitation.
  • Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

How Just 5 Bucks Can Help

When we learned about the possibility of developing our own campaign to provide drinking what for the developing nations, we decided to create a campaign that was simple, doable and, therefore, helpful to many.

Now stop and reflect on

  • One $5.00 Dollar gift = doable.
  • 2,000 people giving one $5.00 gift = doable.
  • The result: $10,000! (And that’s not bad for being doable don’t you think?).
Responding. Reflecting. Deciding.
  • Would you consider giving Just 5 Bucks to something like this?  No guilt trips here: none in the least.  If you can and heart says “move on it,” fine.  If not, that’s fine as well.  All of us give as we feel we can and according to the leading of our hearts.
  • Another possibility would to sharing the campaign with others: know of anyone you could share it with through an email list, Twitter or Facebook?
  • Returning to the subject of giving back or leaving a legacy, did any ideas come to your mind about how you might either “give back” or complement your desire to leave a positive legacy in a positive way?
  • This brings up the subject of values.  If you happen to be in business of some sort, what advice would you give to someone about identifying and living by their most cherished values while in the process of being involved in something like attraction marketing for instance?

All The Very Best To You!

May you and those you love and care for experience a meaningful remainder of this day,

Lee

Attraction Marketing Excellence — Adding The Care Factor To The Business Of Business

Attraction Marketing Excellence Caring Leadership

Attraction Marketing Excellence:

Adding The “Care Factor”

To The Business Of Business

While Writing An Online Friend…

As you know, I am a writer, enjoy the journaling process, and also the blogging process as an attraction marketer.  All that to say that as such, there are times when I like to “capture the moment” and just put up a blog post because something comes to mind or touches my heart while I am in the process of doing whatever “it” is.

That just took place.

While sending off a personal note to Dr. Mani — an online friend of mine I have been fortunate enough to interact with on a personal level for a number of years — I experienced one of those “enjoyable pauses” we experience during any given day.  (See my “Giving Back” page for more on Dr. Mani’s work).

My enjoyable pause followed my sending personal note off to Dr. Mani about my appreciation for the example he has been to me over the years — and especially in some recent interactions with him which took place.  While I am not going to share the entire content of my interaction with him, I will share a glimpse of that note of appreciation.  I thanked him for…

“Being an inspirational example as you add in ‘the care factor’ to your business and your business teachings as you instruct or mentor others.”

That’s It!  ”The Care Factor”

Upon the completion of my expression of gratitude, “the care factor” immediately came to mind relative saying a few things about it on this blog.

Was it one of those “follow your heart” moments?  Possibly. Or simply something that I found myself desiring touch on once again? Not sure, but I decided to move forward and create the post!

Maybe in relationship to the topic of attraction marketing or working at home, you could assign the topic “extra care” as it relates to our marketing efforts.  That is, caring being in addition to the normal caring for the the customer.

I am referring to the concept here as…

Intentionally adding in another level of ’service’ to others in our marketing and business pursuits.

That “adding in” could be…

  • It could be a blog post like this to serve as a very, very low key reminder or emotional “prompt” to consider the process.
  • Pointing people to a charity you support — such as World Vision — in an email, in a blog post, or possibly creating an article to be include in an article directory.
  • Being a driving force for something like Dr. Mani’s Heart Foundation to help save the lives of children or Rick Beneteau’s Internet Toy Drive that he heads up each year.
  • Etc., etc., etc.

The point being…

  • An intentional,
  • “Added something,”
  • Of value or worth (above normal customer care),
  • To our various business efforts.

Reflecting.  Responding.

  • What ideas come to mind as you think about the “added care factor” relative to our online and offline efforts?
  • By chance have you been “kicking the tires” relative to testing out an idea of yours to bring help, healing and or hope to some group of people in your field of influence?
  • Have you seen anyone reflecting this type of effort that you could let them know of your gratefulness for their efforts?

You fill in the blanks!

Your creativity, care for others and desire to live an on purpose life will no doubt usher in a flow of additional ideas, reflections and/or action steps that you will decide to take.

All The Very Best To You!

May you and those you love and care for experience a meaningful remainder of this day,

Lee

Motivational Thoughts On Self Growth

Self Growth Attraction Marketing Personal Development

Motivational Thoughts On Self Growth

We understand that in our personal lives, in our busineses, in our homes, or even in our our volunteer efforts, the idea of maintaining a stance of personal self growth is important.

My purpose here is not to share 10 great ideas for personal self growth that you don’t know already — although sharing 10 ideas on the subject would be a most worthwhile effort. My purpose is purely motivational.

As you have no doubt guessed, I am challenged in my own self development to keep on creating brief, meaningful writings in the self development arena of life: with a special interest in the art of creating quotes.

With that in mind, here’s a quote for your consideration today:

Self Growth

Striving to manage well who I am

for the purpose of becoming

well more of who I desire to be.

© Lee Wise

Continuing The Thought Process…

Regarding the quote above:

  • What aspects come to mind when you think of “managing well” our self growth?
  • Could the quote be used in a training session, posted on your blog, sent in an email or shared in any other manner that would fit your purposes?
  • In my first question above, if two or three thoughts came to mind relative to “managing well” your own self growth and development, would it be good for you to respond in any way to the ideas that came to mind?
  • If you were to journal your responses to the images, ideas, memories or stories that came to mind as a result of reflecting on my brief quote, what might you enter in your journal today?
  • Reflecting on the idea of self growth during your younger years, what part did the concept play — or not play — and should you happen to be a parent does that say anything to you today?

As Special Thanks For Reading This Post — 50% Off

You probably realize that I have created an ebook — basically, a self-development ebook — for folks on the business side of life so-to-speak. It’s called Stay Motivated! An Inspirational Handbook For Attraction Marketers. You can click that for more information.

At any rate, if in glancing around you like what you are seeing in terms of my writing, I would like to make you a special offer. Should you visit the link and decide you may like the book, as a bonus for reading this post, I would like to offer you a 50% Discount off the price of my book. How long will this be offered? Honestly I am not sure, lol! For sure for another 10 days. Beyond that, no guarantees.

Is there a “catch” in this? Nope, just an offer. I am highly biased and feel that many people could benefit from the contents of the book and I want to “get the word out” as they say. Well, one catch I guess: just don’t send out the email and address for people who have not read my post! Get them here first!!

Just send me an email here: writeleewise(at)gmail(dot)com. No, this is not an autoresponder and it does not put you on a list! In the subject line put: “Give me the discount!” I will then return some instructions and a code to you for your use to receive the discount.

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

Parenting Fathering Online Marketing Work At Home

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

While this post will not qualify as being the longest creation on the subject of being a dad, I believe it holds weight in the category of being important.

In actuality it came about as a result of my taking a look at a variety of the movies I was checking out from what I could call “the back office” of Simple Truths (yes, I am an affiliate in case you are wondering).  At any rate, I played the brief “movie” you will see below my quote, and it certainly grabbed my attention.  For me, it could be termed a “gripping” presentation.

So…

I decided to post it here.  The quote I created several years ago.  I believe it was around 2003 in fact.  Yes, I still feel the same. It is an incredible privilege and responsibility being a father as you can see from several of my other posts.  In fact, if you are in business of any sort and happen to be a dad, I would encourage you to click here to read my longer post on the subject of building your home while building your business.

Being A Dad
© Lee Wise

Knowing…

The pleasure and the pain
The good and the not-so-good

The glad times and the sad times
And everything else in between

Only to find yourself saying the
same thing again and again over
the years:

“I love being a dad.”
“I really do… love being a dad.”

If You Are A Dad, I Would Say… Definitely Watch This Movie!

“Bringing It Home” As They Say…

Reflecting on the brief presentation… powerful wouldn’t you say?  And with that in mind, we could ask or comment…

  • How am I doing as a dad on the “time scale” of life with my family: should be, could be better or hardly ever?
  • Realizing that I need to spend a great deal of time on other things, am making sure that I am sharing quality moments — moments where I am being careful to encourage, uplift, carefully listen, use what I would call “the ministry of touch,” and otherwise let the family know of my deep love and concern for them?

The Power Of One Small Thing — Just One

Personal Development Self Growth

The Power Of One Small Thing… Just One!

Small = Big

Small = “big” in many areas of our lives.

  • The offer of a small ring to someone who you hope to hear the words “Yes! I will marry you!” is big.
  • One small smile — again and again — given to encourage, motivate and inspire = “big” results over the long haul.
  • Writing one small paragraph over time can result in the production of your own ebook.

These reflect the positive side of one small thing = big.  But there can be a negative side as well.  Such as…

  • One small lack in character repeated over time can equal big time loss of respect, reputation and even freedom.
  • Avoiding the reality of one small drink taken too many times without self control can result in a lifetime of heartache and failed dreams.
  • Choosing to use one small, hurtful word at just the wrong time — said in the wrong way — can mean too much agony in a struggling relationship.

Two Short Questions Highlighting The Power Of One Small Aspect Of Life

  • Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?
    • This is a question designed to provoke an “overall response.”  That is, a response looking at all that I am at the moment.  Slightly different than Question Number Two below.
    • Could it be a word that I am using too much in my speaking, writing or interacting that if I changed it would bring me just one small step up in the given area of focus?
    • How about a new habit that seems to be developing that is not all that good?  Should it be stopped right now?
    • Words, actions, attitudes, thought patterns, etc., etc.
  • Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today?
    • This could be slightly different from the question above.  The idea is merely to focus on one thing in one area.  Yes, it could be something from one of the above examples, but I am thinking of zeroing in more with this question.
    • In the area of time management for example: not filing something when I am done? Maybe putting those file folders away?  That’s one action in one area of time management: i.e. putting things away.
    • Am I repeating one thought one too many times during the day or eating one too many cookies during lunch?

One Simple Quote

One simple quote for you to reflect on this day…

The Power Of One

In the power of one lies

the beauty of fulfillment

or the agony of defeat

and only our repeated choices over time

makes the difference between the two.

© Lee Wise

And Your Responses Are?

Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?

Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today? The love of my wife for me.

Attraction Marketing Excellence: A Prime Example

Hi, Folks

Why the coffee mug?  Simple: rest for a moment to “relax, enjoy and take in the thoughts below.

I just wanted to take a moment and share with what I learned following my visit to a site by Kary Rogney.  I will relate to you my spontaneous reactions to Kary and his team describing themselves and my subsequent reply (which you can see by clicking on Kary’s link that I’ve put in above) which I made after going to that page and absorbing what it said.

  • No, I am NOT a team member at the time of this writing.
  • No, I am NOT one of their “tribe members” at the time of this writing.
  • No, that link I shared is NOT my affiliate link.

So why share?

Good question and here’s my answer: Very simply, I thought it was good stuff and a quality example — at least from my perspective.  And, for me it was one of those “heart issues.”  I simply felt that it would be a good review, did an inner check, and felt “just go ahead and share it (meaning my observations below).”  So I did.  I talk about listening to the heart and stuff like that in my book, so I try to keep learning myself in that area.

The Post And My “Lessons Learned.”

Kary,

Personally, I think this is one of the best “presentations” I have seen in terms of demonstrating the following in my mind:

*Comfortable style in sharing

*Exemplary teamwork demonstrated in video and on page.

*Value provided (by listening closely to the overview)

*Layout and design of an “internet stopping place.”

*Use of videos in sharing concepts and content.

*What I would term a “qualified call to action.” For me that means to things: (1) If you identify us, with who we are at this point; and (2) like what you sense or “feel”… then go ahead and check further. No push, shove or you may croak in the next 30 seconds if you don’t take action now.

Nice, folks. Really nice.

Thanks for being a positive example out there in the internet world.

Your Takeaways?

  • As you learn, grow and develop… what did you learn (assuming you stopped by Kary’s page).
  • How can, or could, you apply some of the principles they exemplify and share in the brief time they share with you?
  • Can you share and or teach anything in general from the principles that I mentioned?

Your Values. Your Vision. Your Life.

Values Vision Life

Your Values. Your Vision. Your Life.

Bridget Haymond recently created a post on her blog entitled “Values For Your Success.”

Within that very well said article, she lists an acronym for values that I believe is worth sharing.

  • Vision – create a vision board with inspirational photos and phrases
  • Alignment – keep goals in alignment with core values for momentum
  • Legacy – commit to a lifestyle that leaves an inspiring legacy
  • Useful – useful goals have measurable results that further the vision
  • Endurance – worthwhile endeavors take time so endurance is key
  • Success – successful results are balanced and whole life focused.

Aren’t those great?

Expanding, Applying, Digging Deeper

Vision

As you move through your day — whether that be an “attraction marketing day” — a personal day off, or during this stage in your life:

How could are you, or feel that you should be, keeing your vision alive?

If yours, like many, is a “vision in formation,” how might paying attention to the remainder of the points help you along the way?

Alignment and Core Values

Have you identified your core values that could be “attached” to any of your goals or dreams?

If so, are they in print where you could share them with someone else?

** A side note here. Chapter two of my ebook gives you a simple process to clarify and create your own values list.

Legacy

Don’t you love that word “lifestyle” when associated with the topic of a legacy?

Question: if you were to summarize in broad terms what you are aiming at in terms of a legacy, what would it be?

Have you created a mission statement that would faciliate your living the way you desire to live for the purpose of leaving the legacy you desire to leave?

Useful and Enduring

Putting these two words through my particular grid, I might say…

We design target attitudes and actions that serve to move us towards the desires of our hearts (i.e. they are useful) and stimulate in us a sense of sticking with it until they are accomplished or modified to fit our purposes.

How would you reframe that combination of words to fit your take on life and what you want to accomplish?

Writing down how you might answer that could be the stimulus to share with those you are training, your family or another significant person you are seeking to influence.

Success

“Balanced and whole life focused.” Now that says tons to me.

Tons.

In my way of thinking, being “balanced” and “whole life focused” qualifies for a never ending pursuit. Why? Because we…

Learn.
Grow.
Adapt.
Adjust.
And keep moving forward in those areas.

Suppose your son, daughter, spouse, best friend, or business partner and this question was posed to you:

“How do you attempt to stay balanced and whole life focused?”

How would you answer that person?

Thanks, Bridget!

Naturally, Bridget has more to say on her post but she sure got me thinking!

On Maintaing Hope in Business and the Business of Life

On Regaining Hope!

A bit on the unusual side for me on a post, I just sat down, began to write, and this is what came out in the process.  Enjoy!

On Maintaining Hope In Business and in the Business Of Life

You,

Your team,

Or those around you will struggle with maintaing hope at times.

Most of us do in my opinion.

While there may exist many formulas for regaining hope, my thoughts today centered around not so much of a formula but rather a simple observation.

On Maintaining Hope…

Hope is maintained by an ongoing process

of realigning thoughts and actions with faith based intentions.

©Lee Wise

I take stock of who I am on the inside.

And if hope is lacking for whatever the reason, I ask a simple question:

“What is truth here?”

And then: “Will truth reign?”

I may be down, disappointed and not at all ready to move forward.  But in seeing what I could do based on where I believe it is important for me to be in the next steps of my journey, I…

  • Realign my thoughts with where I want to head.
  • Establish the validity of the goal.
  • Assess what I can do as opposed to being overwhelmed with what I feel I can’t do.
  • And I decide to take some action that truly assists me in the process.

That action could be actually doing something or deciding to not do anything because I am proverbially speaking, “Shot.”

But I do it.  And somewhere in the process a measure of hope returns or is maintained to some degree.

Maybe nothing fancy, life changing or what some might call dramatic…

But just enough to keep me moving forward.

An Inspirational Quote By Lee Wise — On Caring

An Inspirational Quote By Lee Wise — On Caring

Don’t allow the simplicity of this quote to run by you without a measure of thought.  While obvious, you and I recognize…

  • The importance of caring in terms of our own character development.
  • The importance of learning how to reflect genuine care to those in our internet marketing pursuits.
  • The importance of caring with regards to our personal and family lives.
  • And how all of the above tie together in terms of our own personal success.

Taking It All In…

  • What does the subject of caring bring to mind for me as I plan my business week?
  • As I think about caring for others, who would immediately come to mind in my personal or professional life that could use a bit of my “caring time”?
  • If I were to reflect on the most meaningful ways others have cared for me in my life, what might I add in my journal entry regarding those ways?

Renegade University

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
