Where Do Our Problems Find Us In The End?
While enjoying one of my “read for pleasure” breaks, I quite randomly opened up a small paperback book and read this heading:
“No problem leaves you where it found you.”
This quote from Robert Schuller’s Move Ahead With Possibility Thinking immediately caused me to pause and read his next few thoughts which I quote for you now.** Dr. Schuller says…
Read this affirmation out loud: (Note: you can listen to the podcast version of this below).
“I will we a different person when this problem is past.
I will be a…
Wiser,
Stronger,
More patient person;
or I will be…
Sour,
Cynical,
Bitter,
Disillusioned,
And angry.
It all depends on what I do with this problem.
Each problem can make me a petter person or a worse person. It can bring me closer to God, or it can shatter my faith. It all depends on my attitude.
I intend to be a better person when this problem leaves me than I was when it met me.”
**Note: I changed the formatting to fit me and how I processed the quote. Also, if you share this podcast, please be sure to note, like I did here, that it is from Dr. Schuller.
My Response
I simply thought: “That’s really good.” It simply resonated with me in terms of:
- The power of choice I have and how it can take me in one direction or another.
- The necessity of developing and maintaining a helpful perspective in life.
- The power of words and how although they may be few in number they hold the potential of influencing our lives in a very positive manner.
- The place faith can play in a person’s life.
Digging Deeper
Simple thought: in our businesses and personal lives we must continually work at moving through our problems in the best ways possible.
- Perspective helps.
- Determination helps.
- Faith helps.
And Your Thoughts Are???
