Defining Our Purpose. Refining Our Lives.

Success On Purpose Purpose In Life

“Defining Our Purpose.

Refining Our Lives.”

First Thoughts…

Dealing with topics related to the direction of our lives, life purpose, and our values are issues of tremendous importance.  May the brief comments below assist you as you continue to refine and live out your own reasons for living.

What’s Your Target In Life?

What’s Your Target for Life?

Targets may signify great importance in your lives.

By way of example…

If we target the completion of a great relationship with the intent of making it work over the long haul: the “win” can hold a huge meaning for our lives and the lives of others.

Should we target the investment of our time, talents and energies into motivating others to join us in the task of giving people in underdeveloped countries safe and clean water to drink, the “win” can be huge in terms of both personal fulfillment and the beginning of a new life for many others.

If we set our emotional sights on hitting the target of helping children read, educating the next generation of leaders, or being the best possible mom or dad, becoming the best salesman in the force, gaining the victory of the life-is-so-fast-and-I-am-going-to-break-out-of-the-race syndrome…

If we set our sights on these and any other heart-felt targets, the benefits to our lives can be enormous.

In the book Success On Purpose by ER Haas and Kent C Madson, the authors use these words quite frequently:

  • Happiness
  • Satisfaction
  • Significance

And they wrap these words around a single “target” which I believe it is important for all of us to pursue:

The identification and and subsequent pursuing

of our purpose in life:

our supreme “target” in life.

With that focus in mind, let me ask you a set of questions to begin our thinking for this New Year (no, I have not “arrived” in these areas: they are good for me to reflect upon as well.):

  • Have I clearly identified my own purpose in life — or various purposes according to my roles — or am I in the process of doing so? Where am I on that journey? Where should I be in that journey?
  • Related to the comment above, have I formulated a personal mission statement to help guide me in the pursuit of the life I desire to live? Would I like to do so? And if so, what would I assign as a target date to begin my effort?
  • If I were to take more than a few moments of my life to think about the words “happiness,” “significance” and “satisfaction” and how they might play out in terms their realization in my life, what journal entries would I make? What insights might I gain in that simple exercise that could move me forward in my experiencing of those most important terms?

The most cherished, heart-felt targets of our lives so often:

  • Set direction
  • Determine behavior
  • Define parameters
  • Reinforce vision
  • Produce desired results

All the best to you in this New Year and all the years to follow in any and all of your individual “target generated” endeavors!

Personal Success

The ongoing process

of becoming who I desire to become

during the many and varied moments of my day.

Attraction Marketing Excellence – 6 Days Of Personal Development For You

Attraction Marketing 6 Days Personal Development

Attraction Marketing Excellence

6 Days Of Personal Development For You!

6 Days Worth Of Personal Development: A Summary Of Posts From 9/4 to 9/10

Continuing on my quest to put together a number of my blog posts, I am now catching up with more blogging entries from here at Attraction Marketing Excellence in early September: super!

My suggestions for your personal development and growth remain essentially the same: in other words, a few additional moments spent in your review could benefit you! So…

  • If happen to be involved in attraction marketing, you could take a quick scan to see what you have been thinking about lately, scan the list, and settle down on the topic that interests you.
  • Otherwise, quickly skim through the list while listening to your heart and pause where prompted to do so.  Who knows, maybe one of those “heart pauses” could become the beginning of a journal entry for you.
  • Of course, I would always encourage you to think about others who may be influenced through any insights you gain or which a particular post title may bring to mind.  Why not capture an idea for later?
  • Once again, you might try and think “just one.”  By that I mean capture one thought, one idea, or one slice of life to record, modify or pass on others.

Today’s  Summary

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

  • Just what is says: simple, but not simplistic. In fact, one of the commenter wrote: “The movie brought tears to my eyes. So true. The time we spend with our children and friends is everything. We change the world one person at a time, starting with those closest to us.”

  • I would love to hear if you enjoy any of these — which I most certainly hope that you will.

Attraction Marketing Excellence – On Personal Renewal

Personal Renewal Attraction Marketing

“Personal Renewal”

The process of making me better than I am now

because of who I will to be later

© Lee Wise

First Thoughts…

This blog post is for encouragement and intentionally succinct.  The topic of personal renewal fills books and occupies the hearts of many.

Call yourself an attraction marketer, a work at home mom, just a dad beginning his day who stopped by the blog, a faith based individual opening his or her copy of what is viewed as a sacred writing, a full or part-time blogger, or a marketing funnel guru who stumbled by for a leisurely albeit an unplanned visit…

Personal renewal is necessary.

View my thoughts below as prompts for your thoughts, your ideas, and your actions for today — or tomorrow.

Lee’s Reflections…

  • Renewal is necessary.
  • I would say that renewal is “difficult with the discipline to do so.”
  • Renewal should take on the personality, goals, aspirations and intended purposes of each unique individual. In other words, it is highly personal.  I may copy someone else for my benefit because I choose to do so but copying without allowing myself to adapt and “make it mine,” holds the potential of not being so good — at least in my opinion.
  • Renewal is a process.  I do great, fair, bottom out and land somewhere in between according to the times and seasons of my life.

Questions For Growth…

  • Where should my thoughts on personal renewal lead me right now? Where should they lead me today?
  • Where do I find myself on the “personal renewal scale” — great, a bit stuck, in the middle somewhere, or ready to take cover in a single bound for fear of low flying emotional bird droppings on my already tender head, lol!?  Wherever “where do I find myself” is, what do I believe my next steps should be?
  • How have I achieved personal renewal in the past?  Any insights I should share?  Patterns I should bring back to the surface of my life?

All The Very Best To You!

May you and those you love and care for enjoy a meaningful week!

Lee

P.S.

Attraction Marketing Excellence And A 30 Day Blogging Challenge

Blogging Attraction Marketing Excellence

Attraction Marketing Excellence

And A 30 Day Blogging Challenge

Taking in the announcement on Facebook for the 30 Day Blogging Challenge that they would begin soon —  in addition to a similar announcement from the Ultimate Blog Challenge — I decided to dive in for the month of August and attempt to post at least once a day for a 30 day period of time. Yes, I joined both of them since they were taking place during the same time frame.  No, I did not shoot for completing 60 posts!

My Bottom Line — Even Before I Post My Reflections On The Process

  • Interested in taking part in a blogging challenge and have an interest in blogging?  Then do it!
  • Seriously — that’s my bottom line.  I totally enjoyed the process and should you: (1) desire to learn; (2) be challenged to keep on a schedule; and (3) have an interest in connecting with others — then dive in!
  • My experience was both challenging and meaningful — and continues to be so.

Reflections On What I Gained From The Process: It’s Value To Me

  • One of the most significant “takeaways” from the 30 day blogging process for me was — and is — the continual clarification process relative to establishing my online presence.  I remember reflecting to my wife: “Ya know, I really enjoy this blogging process.  It is helping me clarify the direction I would like to head at this time” (i.e. in my ongoing growth as an internet marketer).  In current terminology, I was developing more of “Me Incorporated.” I love to write and to write in a way that I hope will influence others in positive — and maybe even lasting — ways.  For me, this process is huge — as in big, lol!
  • I enjoyed meeting other good people in the process.  Simply put: there are a lot of good people “out there” in the internet world!  You learn and grow through reading the posts of others, from comments to your blog, and through visiting and commenting on their blogs.
  • I realized more traffic to my blog during the month.
  • The process also pointed out for me the obvious: the need to learn more.  That’s not surprising, since life is in reality on learning curve after another as we go through various stages, correct?
  • The challenge to blog each day also reinforced my desire to keep improving as a writer.
  • I learned more about making quality comments on blogs — especially from reading the comments made by others on my blog!  In fact, I wrote a post on people commenting on various posts.

Ongoing Challenges…

  • The challenge to continue learning the blogging process.  And for me that would be the continual growth as an internet marketer, life coach, author and someone who continually asks the question “How can I use what I am finding that I love to do — i.e. blogging — for the purpose of complementing my desire to progress in the best ways possible for my life at this time?”
  • The challenge of how to continue to locate other targeted blogs to comment on and manage the time and effort it takes to do so.  Even though I’ve see some training on this, it remains a definite challenge.

All Done!

In brief, I remain very grateful for the process.  Thanks Faith and Michele for creating the opportunities for helping others learn, connect and grow in the blogging process!

Vince Lombardi On What It Takes To Be A Success

Success Purpose Attraction Marketing

Vince Lombardi

On What It Takes To Be A Success

The three minute inspirational movie below shares Vince Lombardi’s keys to success with vintage photos, Lombardi quotes, and audio segments from Lombardi giving his famous speech “What It Takes To Be Number One.”

I received this email today from Simple Truths (yes, I am an affiliate in case you are wondering) reminding me regarding the opening of the NFL season and in the email was this clip.  I thought: “Sure, I’ll take a look at that.”  Which I did, of course, and decided to share it here as well.

The clip contains quite an array of short quotes covering such subjects as the following.

  • Wisdom
  • Truth
  • Excellence
  • Results
  • Passion
  • Habit
  • Mental Toughness
  • Discipline

You know of my love for quotes! And, whether or not you will agree with every aspect of every quote, there’s enough packed within the video to definitely start one thinking.

For instance, we could ask ourselves…

  • “What would we say, or write, about the topics in that bulleted list above?”
  • “How would we tie those ideas into our personal lives or business efforts?”
  • “How might we prioritize the list?”
  • “If we had to make a top ten value list to live by, how many of those would be on the list?”

Of course, in thinking about the power of one person’s influence, I couldn’t resist trying to put something in print, and here it is:

The Power Of Influence
© Lee Wise

It is in understanding
the power of influence
that strive to live well
for reasons that we hope
will make a positive impact in us
and in the lives of those we seek to impact
through the unique touches we bring to the world.

Here Ya Go… Enjoy The Clip!

And Your Impressions Were?

Assuming that you took a time out for the purpose of catching Lombardi’s thoughts, what positive thoughts do you have?

  • For instance, in your thoughts about success, what would you add to the list?
  • Would you combine any of the thoughts.
  • And what about your journal?  Would anything rise to surface long enough to be placed in your journal?

Motivational Thoughts On Self Growth

Self Growth Attraction Marketing Personal Development

Motivational Thoughts On Self Growth

We understand that in our personal lives, in our busineses, in our homes, or even in our our volunteer efforts, the idea of maintaining a stance of personal self growth is important.

My purpose here is not to share 10 great ideas for personal self growth that you don’t know already — although sharing 10 ideas on the subject would be a most worthwhile effort. My purpose is purely motivational.

As you have no doubt guessed, I am challenged in my own self development to keep on creating brief, meaningful writings in the self development arena of life: with a special interest in the art of creating quotes.

With that in mind, here’s a quote for your consideration today:

Self Growth

Striving to manage well who I am

for the purpose of becoming

well more of who I desire to be.

© Lee Wise

Continuing The Thought Process…

Regarding the quote above:

  • What aspects come to mind when you think of “managing well” our self growth?
  • Could the quote be used in a training session, posted on your blog, sent in an email or shared in any other manner that would fit your purposes?
  • In my first question above, if two or three thoughts came to mind relative to “managing well” your own self growth and development, would it be good for you to respond in any way to the ideas that came to mind?
  • If you were to journal your responses to the images, ideas, memories or stories that came to mind as a result of reflecting on my brief quote, what might you enter in your journal today?
  • Reflecting on the idea of self growth during your younger years, what part did the concept play — or not play — and should you happen to be a parent does that say anything to you today?

As Special Thanks For Reading This Post — 50% Off

You probably realize that I have created an ebook — basically, a self-development ebook — for folks on the business side of life so-to-speak. It’s called Stay Motivated! An Inspirational Handbook For Attraction Marketers. You can click that for more information.

At any rate, if in glancing around you like what you are seeing in terms of my writing, I would like to make you a special offer. Should you visit the link and decide you may like the book, as a bonus for reading this post, I would like to offer you a 50% Discount off the price of my book. How long will this be offered? Honestly I am not sure, lol! For sure for another 10 days. Beyond that, no guarantees.

Is there a “catch” in this? Nope, just an offer. I am highly biased and feel that many people could benefit from the contents of the book and I want to “get the word out” as they say. Well, one catch I guess: just don’t send out the email and address for people who have not read my post! Get them here first!!

Just send me an email here: writeleewise(at)gmail(dot)com. No, this is not an autoresponder and it does not put you on a list! In the subject line put: “Give me the discount!” I will then return some instructions and a code to you for your use to receive the discount.

Questions For Excellence – Our Observing People Skills

Attraction Marketing Life Coach Asking Questions

Questions For Excellence…

Our Observing People Skills

Excellence For Business.

Excellence For Life.

Continuing this brief series, these were my observations from an excellent article on The Coaching Mindset by Kendall Silva. I have these posted directly by my computer to use for motivation, inspiration and ongoing skill development.

Once again, I feel these questions may help whether you are:

My Question For You Today…

“How Can I Increase My ‘Observe People’ Skills Today?”

Think about it:

  • You could be going to the doctor’s office (as I will be in a few short hours) and during that time you could just simple say to yourself “I’m going take a few minutes ‘just to observe.’ I will be a learner.”
  • What could you learn about people — in short “chunks” of time — that would increase your skills in the area of learning from, listening to, enjoying, or helping out people? As yesterday’s post was on taking advantage of the power of story, maybe the two could be combined in some way: i.e. not only listening to someone’s story that you prompted by also increasing in your “people observation skills” in the process.
  • You could learn by segmenting. I used to share with the men in my class to do this: you create a “filter” for the day and watch people according to the filter you create. For instance, one example I gave them was: “Watch dads today in church. Just pay attention to what they do, don’t do, need to do, etc. Whatever: you create what you desire to focus on.”

Your Turn!

  • Reflect on the examples I gave above… and expand on those thoughts. Take them into your world of parenting, network marketing, personal relationships, training, preaching, teaching… whatever. You are creative!
  • In what you already know about people, suppose you were to create an article, post or a teaching session of some sort on “The Top Two Affirming Characteristics I’ve Seen In People”: what would you list? What might you write on? How could you inspire, encourage or be a positive influence in the world through what you have observed and what you would write?
  • Could your observations be the beginning of a “how to” article, blog post, slide presentation or a short video?

A Brief Quote To Consider

On Learning From Others

We learn that we may become better people:

for it is in the art of becoming

that we contribute to our world,

ourselves, and all we seek to influence.

May we become all we can for the purpose of

helping others do the same.

It dawned on me that even though I’ve been posting more these past 30 plus day, that many may not have seen my brief video on my ebook that complements most all of the posting I have done over this 31 day period of time. It could be of a help to many! So with that in mind, I included the video below. Don’t worry: it’s brief: 2 minutes, 50 seconds to be exact!

The Wonder And Beauty Of Small Successes

Success - Personal Growth -

The Wonder And Beauty Of Small Successes

(Winning In Life And Business One Step At A Time)

I do enjoy listening to, reading, or hearing about in one way or another the “small” successes people experience in their lives.  Maybe that is one reason I’ve always enjoyed the experience of coaching others: you get to see them see them “win.”

Maybe not the “big” wins: just the wins.

  • A child’s fifteenth try — and “win” —  at conquering that two wheeler.
  • A student teacher’s relating about a “win” in the classroom.
  • The simple joy of someone sharing “I did it!” — no matter how small the “I did it” may have been in their life.
  • A young pastor in the making sharing a successful first ministry effort while training at a church (yep, that’s my background showing, lol!)

The Importance Of The “Small Wins” In Life And Business

Nothing new, for sure.  And I know you affirm the reality of this truth:

The small small successes in life make a difference.

In my way of thinking we need to:

  • Acknowledge them.
  • Celebrate them.
  • And help others do the same.

And we need to do so in:

  • Our own lives.
  • The lives of our those we may be married to.
  • Those we term dear friends.
  • The lives of our children.
  • The people we may be associated with in our work at home opportunity, our mastermind team or those we work with on a day to day basis.
  • Etc.

Right about now I can almost — almost — hear your on saying on the inside…

“Oh, Good Grief, Lee: All Of Us Know That!”

Absolutely true.  Absolutely true.

However…

But I am big fan, cheerleader, proponent of, and/or believe in the power of a timely reminder. And this is just that: a reminder.  Therefore, just in case this may be for you one of those “right time reminders,” allow me to toss out a few questions in your direction:

  • Should you happen to be facing any level of discouragement, do you need to take note of the small victories in your life at this time?  Maybe record them in your journal, post several of them around for you to see during the day, or simply see them as something to be grateful for?
  • If I were to ask you, what small steps to success in your business or life journey have you taken that could be of a benefit for others to know, could you list them?  Should you list them?
  • What small “victory step” could you begin tomorrow?  Maybe begin the first post in a blog with a goal attached to it: like making one post a day for the next month?  Or, making it “an encouragement day” for someone by encouraging them in one small, yet meaningful, manner?  Or a “learn something new in only five or ten minutes” time tomorrow that could help?
  • Is there one small step you have not taken that you know you need to take at this time and you have not done so?

Time To Visit Your Heart

You might expect that as a life coach with a pastoral training background,  I might deliver your way inquiries such as these about now:

  • In reviewing what we have talked about, do you hear your heart ’saying’ anything to at this time concerning what we have interacted about?
  • Thinking about what we have reviewed, would you say that you are giving yourself enough credit at this stage in our life relative to your small successes, or is there some other obstacle (small or large) hindering your success right now that should be considered?
  • Since you are a parent, let me ask you: are you celebrating in the small successes in the lives of your children — no matter what their age may be?
  • Okay, I know you see the importance of small success steps and liked what you read, so what step would you be willing to design and take by this time next week?

Here’s To Your Small Steps Of Victory Next Week

I wish you the best in any of your small but significant to you steps you may be planning on taking this next week.

Should you feel like sharing them in a public way, leave a reply!

A Brief Quote To Consider

On Small Success

The high roads of life are often identified

by the footprints of the small success steps

we have taken during our journeys to take us there.

7 Days Of Ideas Personal Growth Ideas: A Summary Of The Past Week (August 21-27)

My suggestions for capturing the best you can from this brief summary of this week’s posts.

  • Take a quick — but not too quick — read of the post titles.

  • Develop a beginning list for your own business and self development growth plans of action for the next week or month.
  • Create Idea File for those “Not yet but I sure would like to get back to that idea and not forget it” types of thoughts.
  • Read with “Influence Eyes” in terms of sharing good material with others.
  • Think about “One good thought for one good purpose” as you review the titles, record your thought and act. And, by the way, do any good title of your own come to mind that you could use in any way?

The Power Of One Small Thing — Just One

Personal Development Self Growth

The Power Of One Small Thing… Just One!

Small = Big

Small = “big” in many areas of our lives.

  • The offer of a small ring to someone who you hope to hear the words “Yes! I will marry you!” is big.
  • One small smile — again and again — given to encourage, motivate and inspire = “big” results over the long haul.
  • Writing one small paragraph over time can result in the production of your own ebook.

These reflect the positive side of one small thing = big.  But there can be a negative side as well.  Such as…

  • One small lack in character repeated over time can equal big time loss of respect, reputation and even freedom.
  • Avoiding the reality of one small drink taken too many times without self control can result in a lifetime of heartache and failed dreams.
  • Choosing to use one small, hurtful word at just the wrong time — said in the wrong way — can mean too much agony in a struggling relationship.

Two Short Questions Highlighting The Power Of One Small Aspect Of Life

  • Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?
    • This is a question designed to provoke an “overall response.”  That is, a response looking at all that I am at the moment.  Slightly different than Question Number Two below.
    • Could it be a word that I am using too much in my speaking, writing or interacting that if I changed it would bring me just one small step up in the given area of focus?
    • How about a new habit that seems to be developing that is not all that good?  Should it be stopped right now?
    • Words, actions, attitudes, thought patterns, etc., etc.
  • Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today?
    • This could be slightly different from the question above.  The idea is merely to focus on one thing in one area.  Yes, it could be something from one of the above examples, but I am thinking of zeroing in more with this question.
    • In the area of time management for example: not filing something when I am done? Maybe putting those file folders away?  That’s one action in one area of time management: i.e. putting things away.
    • Am I repeating one thought one too many times during the day or eating one too many cookies during lunch?

One Simple Quote

One simple quote for you to reflect on this day…

The Power Of One

In the power of one lies

the beauty of fulfillment

or the agony of defeat

and only our repeated choices over time

makes the difference between the two.

© Lee Wise

And Your Responses Are?

Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?

Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today? The love of my wife for me.

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
