Motivational Thoughts On Self Growth

We understand that in our personal lives, in our busineses, in our homes, or even in our our volunteer efforts, the idea of maintaining a stance of personal self growth is important.

My purpose here is not to share 10 great ideas for personal self growth that you don’t know already — although sharing 10 ideas on the subject would be a most worthwhile effort. My purpose is purely motivational.

As you have no doubt guessed, I am challenged in my own self development to keep on creating brief, meaningful writings in the self development arena of life: with a special interest in the art of creating quotes.

With that in mind, here’s a quote for your consideration today:

Self Growth

Striving to manage well who I am

for the purpose of becoming

well more of who I desire to be.

© Lee Wise

Continuing The Thought Process…

Regarding the quote above:

  • What aspects come to mind when you think of “managing well” our self growth?
  • Could the quote be used in a training session, posted on your blog, sent in an email or shared in any other manner that would fit your purposes?
  • In my first question above, if two or three thoughts came to mind relative to “managing well” your own self growth and development, would it be good for you to respond in any way to the ideas that came to mind?
  • If you were to journal your responses to the images, ideas, memories or stories that came to mind as a result of reflecting on my brief quote, what might you enter in your journal today?
  • Reflecting on the idea of self growth during your younger years, what part did the concept play — or not play — and should you happen to be a parent does that say anything to you today?

As Special Thanks For Reading This Post — 50% Off

You probably realize that I have created an ebook — basically, a self-development ebook — for folks on the business side of life so-to-speak. It’s called Stay Motivated! An Inspirational Handbook For Attraction Marketers. You can click that for more information.

At any rate, if in glancing around you like what you are seeing in terms of my writing, I would like to make you a special offer. Should you visit the link and decide you may like the book, as a bonus for reading this post, I would like to offer you a 50% Discount off the price of my book. How long will this be offered? Honestly I am not sure, lol! For sure for another 10 days. Beyond that, no guarantees.

Is there a “catch” in this? Nope, just an offer. I am highly biased and feel that many people could benefit from the contents of the book and I want to “get the word out” as they say. Well, one catch I guess: just don’t send out the email and address for people who have not read my post! Get them here first!!

Just send me an email here: writeleewise(at)gmail(dot)com. No, this is not an autoresponder and it does not put you on a list! In the subject line put: “Give me the discount!” I will then return some instructions and a code to you for your use to receive the discount.

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

Parenting Fathering Online Marketing Work At Home

Simple Thoughts On Being A Dad

While this post will not qualify as being the longest creation on the subject of being a dad, I believe it holds weight in the category of being important.

In actuality it came about as a result of my taking a look at a variety of the movies I was checking out from what I could call “the back office” of Simple Truths (yes, I am an affiliate in case you are wondering).  At any rate, I played the brief “movie” you will see below my quote, and it certainly grabbed my attention.  For me, it could be termed a “gripping” presentation.

So…

I decided to post it here.  The quote I created several years ago.  I believe it was around 2003 in fact.  Yes, I still feel the same. It is an incredible privilege and responsibility being a father as you can see from several of my other posts.  In fact, if you are in business of any sort and happen to be a dad, I would encourage you to click here to read my longer post on the subject of building your home while building your business.

Being A Dad
© Lee Wise

Knowing…

The pleasure and the pain
The good and the not-so-good

The glad times and the sad times
And everything else in between

Only to find yourself saying the
same thing again and again over
the years:

“I love being a dad.”
“I really do… love being a dad.”

If You Are A Dad, I Would Say… Definitely Watch This Movie!

“Bringing It Home” As They Say…

Reflecting on the brief presentation… powerful wouldn’t you say?  And with that in mind, we could ask or comment…

  • How am I doing as a dad on the “time scale” of life with my family: should be, could be better or hardly ever?
  • Realizing that I need to spend a great deal of time on other things, am making sure that I am sharing quality moments — moments where I am being careful to encourage, uplift, carefully listen, use what I would call “the ministry of touch,” and otherwise let the family know of my deep love and concern for them?

The Wonder And Beauty Of Small Successes

Success - Personal Growth -

The Wonder And Beauty Of Small Successes

(Winning In Life And Business One Step At A Time)

I do enjoy listening to, reading, or hearing about in one way or another the “small” successes people experience in their lives.  Maybe that is one reason I’ve always enjoyed the experience of coaching others: you get to see them see them “win.”

Maybe not the “big” wins: just the wins.

  • A child’s fifteenth try — and “win” —  at conquering that two wheeler.
  • A student teacher’s relating about a “win” in the classroom.
  • The simple joy of someone sharing “I did it!” — no matter how small the “I did it” may have been in their life.
  • A young pastor in the making sharing a successful first ministry effort while training at a church (yep, that’s my background showing, lol!)

The Importance Of The “Small Wins” In Life And Business

Nothing new, for sure.  And I know you affirm the reality of this truth:

The small small successes in life make a difference.

In my way of thinking we need to:

  • Acknowledge them.
  • Celebrate them.
  • And help others do the same.

And we need to do so in:

  • Our own lives.
  • The lives of our those we may be married to.
  • Those we term dear friends.
  • The lives of our children.
  • The people we may be associated with in our work at home opportunity, our mastermind team or those we work with on a day to day basis.
  • Etc.

Right about now I can almost — almost — hear your on saying on the inside…

“Oh, Good Grief, Lee: All Of Us Know That!”

Absolutely true.  Absolutely true.

However…

But I am big fan, cheerleader, proponent of, and/or believe in the power of a timely reminder. And this is just that: a reminder.  Therefore, just in case this may be for you one of those “right time reminders,” allow me to toss out a few questions in your direction:

  • Should you happen to be facing any level of discouragement, do you need to take note of the small victories in your life at this time?  Maybe record them in your journal, post several of them around for you to see during the day, or simply see them as something to be grateful for?
  • If I were to ask you, what small steps to success in your business or life journey have you taken that could be of a benefit for others to know, could you list them?  Should you list them?
  • What small “victory step” could you begin tomorrow?  Maybe begin the first post in a blog with a goal attached to it: like making one post a day for the next month?  Or, making it “an encouragement day” for someone by encouraging them in one small, yet meaningful, manner?  Or a “learn something new in only five or ten minutes” time tomorrow that could help?
  • Is there one small step you have not taken that you know you need to take at this time and you have not done so?

Time To Visit Your Heart

You might expect that as a life coach with a pastoral training background,  I might deliver your way inquiries such as these about now:

  • In reviewing what we have talked about, do you hear your heart ’saying’ anything to at this time concerning what we have interacted about?
  • Thinking about what we have reviewed, would you say that you are giving yourself enough credit at this stage in our life relative to your small successes, or is there some other obstacle (small or large) hindering your success right now that should be considered?
  • Since you are a parent, let me ask you: are you celebrating in the small successes in the lives of your children — no matter what their age may be?
  • Okay, I know you see the importance of small success steps and liked what you read, so what step would you be willing to design and take by this time next week?

Here’s To Your Small Steps Of Victory Next Week

I wish you the best in any of your small but significant to you steps you may be planning on taking this next week.

Should you feel like sharing them in a public way, leave a reply!

A Brief Quote To Consider

On Small Success

The high roads of life are often identified

by the footprints of the small success steps

we have taken during our journeys to take us there.

The Power Of One Small Thing — Just One

Personal Development Self Growth

The Power Of One Small Thing… Just One!

Small = Big

Small = “big” in many areas of our lives.

  • The offer of a small ring to someone who you hope to hear the words “Yes! I will marry you!” is big.
  • One small smile — again and again — given to encourage, motivate and inspire = “big” results over the long haul.
  • Writing one small paragraph over time can result in the production of your own ebook.

These reflect the positive side of one small thing = big.  But there can be a negative side as well.  Such as…

  • One small lack in character repeated over time can equal big time loss of respect, reputation and even freedom.
  • Avoiding the reality of one small drink taken too many times without self control can result in a lifetime of heartache and failed dreams.
  • Choosing to use one small, hurtful word at just the wrong time — said in the wrong way — can mean too much agony in a struggling relationship.

Two Short Questions Highlighting The Power Of One Small Aspect Of Life

  • Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?
    • This is a question designed to provoke an “overall response.”  That is, a response looking at all that I am at the moment.  Slightly different than Question Number Two below.
    • Could it be a word that I am using too much in my speaking, writing or interacting that if I changed it would bring me just one small step up in the given area of focus?
    • How about a new habit that seems to be developing that is not all that good?  Should it be stopped right now?
    • Words, actions, attitudes, thought patterns, etc., etc.
  • Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today?
    • This could be slightly different from the question above.  The idea is merely to focus on one thing in one area.  Yes, it could be something from one of the above examples, but I am thinking of zeroing in more with this question.
    • In the area of time management for example: not filing something when I am done? Maybe putting those file folders away?  That’s one action in one area of time management: i.e. putting things away.
    • Am I repeating one thought one too many times during the day or eating one too many cookies during lunch?

One Simple Quote

One simple quote for you to reflect on this day…

The Power Of One

In the power of one lies

the beauty of fulfillment

or the agony of defeat

and only our repeated choices over time

makes the difference between the two.

© Lee Wise

And Your Responses Are?

Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?

Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today? The love of my wife for me.

Staying On The Grateful Side Of Life

Staying Grateful!

Staying On The Grateful Side Of Life

Deciding to take advantage of the weather and the convenience of my laptop computer, I ventured out to the deck in the back of our home, opened up the file for this year’s journal, and proceeded to copy and past this phrase into its proper place:

My gratefulness journal for today…

Several moments later my entry looked similar to this one:

My gratefulness journal for today…

  • So grateful for Sherry… same “song,” millionth verse, lol!
  • I think I will say “the deck” again.  I decided to come out and record a few things because I understand in an hour or two thunderstorms may come our way.
  • Music.
  • Very grateful for Coaching Cognition.
  • The Lord.  So “simple,” but where on earth would I be without Him?

Enriched Because Of A Small, “Make It Happen” Choice

Several months earlier I made the choice to create the phrase “My gratefulness journal for today” with a goal of completing a personal gratefulness exercise at least once a week.

I am happy for my choice. Actually, I would use the term enriched.  Enriched because of…

  • The simplicity involved in making it happen.
  • The rewards of doing so.

On The Value Of Being Grateful

Not long ago I not only prayed this prayer but wrote it down for others to see:

Father, may my eyes see

what my heart should in gratefulness feel this day.

PrayingSimple by © Lee Wise

I share this with you here not because I expect you to approach gratefulness from a faith based perspective, but to state how I personally feel about our need to cultivate gratefulness in our lives.

Gratefulness, in my mind, touches so many aspects of who we are and who we choose to become.

For instance, I did a search for some of my own thoughts on the subject and below may be found only several of the ideas I created in recent days:

  • Wisdom – embedding images of beauty in the mind by constantly revisiting them with a joyful and grateful heart. © Lee Wise
  • As encouragement inspires hope so gratefulness cultivates the expressive heart of an encourager. © Lee Wise
  • In gratefulness I see better and in seeing better I acquire more for which I am grateful. © Lee Wise

Note that my thoughts about encouragement, wisdom and perspective found their way into what I might call my own sphere of “gratefulness thinking.”

Yes, And Your Point Is…?

My point…

Our decisions to cultivate and promote the gratefulness habit in ourselves and in the lives of other people are decisions that count for something good in a world where not all is good all of the time.

  • Our “gratefulness habit decisions” count for us,
  • And they count for those we influence.

Okay, Lee.  How Would You Define “The Gratefulness Habit”?

Let’s try looking at the practice of being grateful as something like this:

The Gratefulness Habit

The decisions I make to see all the good I can,

As consistently as I possibly can,

For the internal health of myself

And those within my circle of influence.

© Lee Wise

What It Does

In my opinion, the ongoing development of the gratefulness habit can:

  • Help us bring things into perspective.
  • Help us … or “force” us… to stop and look at things in a positive light.
  • Slow us down and cause us to push our internal pause button and to do so for a good reason.
  • Prompt us to look outside of ourselves instead of only at ourselves.
  • Lead us to others for the purpose of helping or thanking them in some way.

Questions For Influence.  Questions For Life.

  • Should your child (older or younger) want to know how you personally stay on the gratefulness side of life, how would you answer them?
  • On the way to an internet marketing conference a friend of yours — one of the speakers — calls and says: “Say, I need someone to fill in a ‘bullet point’ ten minutes time frame on a topic to help everyone: at topic like gratefulness for instance.  I know it’s short notice, but can you step in and fill in the gap for me?”  Assuming you answer in the affirmative, what would you say?
  • While interacting with your personal coach about a seeming gap between your goals and your reality, she states: “Now tell me, what positive points are you seeing in your life right now.”  How would you respond?
  • What part does gratefulness play in your life, business, or in your mental or physical health?  Assuming you could record a great variety of ways — and assuming the question began your thinking — does anyone come to mind you should share any of your responses with?
  • Do the important people in your life — those for whom you would say you are extremely grateful — would you also say they most assuredly would know of your feelings?

Using the Power of Five to Enhance Your Life

The Power Of Five!

Using the Power of Five to Enhance Your Life

Either actually — or in your mind — I would like you to scan an area of your choice: preferably a work area such as a home office or something similar.

Not, yet however!

I want you to take a mental scan of your area choice from a very specific vantage point.

Scan With This Perspective

Survey your location with this perspective in mind as you do:

”As I scan my ____ (office, work space, etc.) what ‘productive something’ could I do in five minutes?”

  • Not the next five minutes.
  • Any five minutes.

It could be anything.

  • Calling someone,
  • Putting a file folder away,
  • writing yourself a reminder
  • Or taking a refreshing five minute read.

It just needs to…

  • Take under five minutes
  • And in your mind it should be “a productive something.”

That is, the action should carry with it a sense of emotional worth; some level of emotional significance.

Ready? Go!

Now Here’s What I Like About What You Discovered

Assuming you really did what I asked, you just experienced “the power of five” in your life.

You identified that which was…

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Held some level of meaning for you.
  • And could be accomplished in five minutes or less.

“Nice!”

I say “nice,” because of the simplicity and power of what that simple exercise could mean for you at times.

  • You choose the time.
  • You choose the focus.
  • And you “go for it” for only five minutes of your time during any given day.

As you are mulling this over in your mind, allow me to repeat what I mentioned seconds ago.  This is…

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Can hold some level of meaning for you.
  • And is accomplished in five minutes or less.

Brainstorming With An Open-Ended List

Expand your imagination about a variety of tasks or activities that could be accomplished in five minutes or less.  What I am terming “productive something” moments.

Travel down the ideas below.  Add your own.  Be creative.  And try it!

If you thought through various concepts or categories, what might come to mind? Categories such as the ones below (or others you discover during your short journey down the page).

Organization

  • What could you organize?
  • Could anything be put away?
  • Any clutter be cleaned up?
  • What about labeling a file folder and filing a piece of information?
  • Dusting maybe?

And your ideas would be…?

Inspiration, Motivation Or Refreshment

  • In five minutes or less, what could you bring into your world or call to your attention that might inspire you, motivate you or bring a moment’s refreshment into your busy day?
  • Do any books come to mind?
  • How about a song, picture or object of some sort?
  • Yoga, deep breathing, stretching, pushups or five minutes of other exercise?

And your ideas would be…?

Ideas

  • Could you have an “idea break”
  • Fun ideas, business ideas, family ideas, etc.  Think ideas by “category” as those I just mentioned for you.

And your ideas would be…?

Blessing Others

  • What could you do in five minutes or under that would encourage or bless someone?
  • Send a note, give them a call, send a text?

And your ideas would be…?

Stopping And Slowing Down

  • Could you meditate or reflect?
  • What about writing only one thought in a journal?
  • Could you stop long enough to enjoy something small?

And your ideas would be…?

Be Creative

  • Could you create a quote, or thought to use for training others?
  • What about reviewing a quote that meant something to you?
  • And what about looking for a cool place to take your husband or wife?
  • Could you find a picture of that blog post you will create later?
  • In five minutes or less could a meaningful personal affirmation be created… or at least begun?
  • Write down one idea for that next article.  It doesn’t have to be 50 ideas, right?  Not now.  This is just your “power of 5” time! Could you?

And your ideas would be…?

Bring Something To “Completion”

Would you consider bringing part of task to a close? Do it!  Wrap it up, shut it down, and bring that part to a close!

You Got It!

By this time — in the even that you stuck with me this far, lol — you totally get the idea!

  • Doable.
  • By design.
  • Holding meaning for you.
  • In five minutes or less!

Three Life-Affirming, Life-Directing Questions

Life Affirming Questions

Three Life Affirming, Life Directing Questions

Common Components Of A Quality Life

It seems to me that a quality life is one that is driven by three components:

  • What is truthful.
  • What is valuable.
  • Heart-felt commitment.
In all of life and in any situation — especially a “high stakes one” —  I must first strive to know what is authentic — or what is true in that situation.
  • Not hype.
  • Not necessarily easy.
  • Not based totally on what I feel or  want to see in the situation.
  • Just what is true.

I must also discover and decide what is most valuable.  That’s based on truth of course.

And finally I must  love what is true and valuable.  That is, I commit myself in a whole-hearted fashion to the pursuit of that which is based on truth and which I value most in life.

The Questions
What Is True?

How many hurt feelings and fights could be avoided if the truth was out in the open from the beginning.

I heard a story in church a number of years ago which illustrates this need.

It was said that a mom was correcting her child.  She had said, “I want you to know that if you come home early from school today again for getting in trouble you are  really going to get it.”

The child did return early and was disciplined immediately.  Following whatever form of discipline or correction had taken place, the question came:  ”So, what did you do this time? “

Then through tears the answer was given: “Nothing, mom. School was dismissed early.”

A sad story, but one that illustrates our need to understand the facts for the purpose of discerning what may or may not be true in a given situation.

What Is Most Important?

When I’m considering changing jobs, giving direction to my child, making serious health-related decisions, or any number of other “high level important stuff,” it is always helpful to know:

  • What I value the most.
  • What will make the most difference.
  • What the real issues are.

A real-life example?

Sure.  When my wife’s mom was dying of cancer she made a simple decision to  do as much as she could  to help her. She knew and accepted the truth: mom was dying.  In a matter of time the relationship here on earth would not continue.

She kept close contact with her (even from a distance), and at the right time went to spend time “just to help and do what I can.”

My wife understood the truth and she made a series of decisions based on her love for mom.  She factored in what was most valuable to her at that phase of her life…

And she acted.

Which leads us to the next point…

What Is My Level Of Commitment?

Once the facts are realized and accepted, and  the degree of importance is acknowledged, a good question to ask is…

What will I commit myself to do at this time in view of what I know to be true and valuable in this situation?

In other words, based on my assessment of the situation, what am I willing to do now?

Generally speaking, the higher my “value level” the greater my commitment will be.

Typically, the “I’ll do whatever it takes” decision is based on what I feel I can do and what I desire to take place with all my heart.

Continuing To Ask…

  • Could you use one or more of the three simple, but not simplistic, questions to assist you in any way at in your business?  What about at home?
  • How might you define what is valuable?  Have you listed your top values and decided to live by those?  Or, if this is a very easy question for you, could you assist others in helping them to identify their most cherished values?

On Being Insanely Productive And Smiling While You Do

On Being Insanely Productive

And Smiling While You Do

Good Thoughts From Mary Jaksh

Sitting here on the back porch at home, I just completed a very enjoyable guest post entitled How to be Insanely Productive and Still Keep Smiling” by Mary Jaksch of Goodlife ZEN.  The post is from Zenhabits.net.

Several thoughts she shared caused me to pause, but when I ran across this one I paused and reflected just a bit more:

“When our energy is aligned, we are in a state of flow.”

This was under the heading of her first of the five points which simply read: Make Peace Within.

And I internalized: ”Yes. Makes sense.”

  • Inner peace.
  • Inner alignment.
  • Inner energy.

A super trio to shoot for!

That Leads Me To Several Simple Questions…

How’s the inner peace, alignment and energy factor in your personal or professional life today?

And how would you relate your answer to the entire concept of productivity in your world?

There’s More!

The five points named in the article are these:

  1. Make peace within.
  2. Go to your edge. Regularly.
  3. Take action.
  4. Do what  you love.
  5. Love what you do.

My suggestion would be to travel over and read the remainder of the article.  And there you will find brief action “Tips” under each of the five points. I can’t imagine your not appreciating the brevity and practicality of the post!

In The Meantime…

  • Consider sharing below how “making peace within” positively effects your life or business.
  • Do you know of anyone that could be helped by this one point or the entire post?
  • If you had to list your brief set of “steps to inner peace,” what might you name?

Reply Or Respond…

Several “brain food” questions for those on the business side of life:

  • Involved in network marketing in way?  Does anyone on your team sending lack of inner peace within signals that you may be able to help?
  • If you would term yourself an attraction marketer, how has “the inner rest factor” helped your business efforts?  Or, how should it?  Does your answer provide any insights as to how you could help others relate, give value or share valuable content?
  • And just in case you are on the blogging for prospects side of the fence, would this be a topic of interest for you to research and post about?

May these brief words of mine prove to be a blessing for you and those you love in one way or another.

Making A Difference As We Make A Living — Why Not?

Making A Difference

As We Make A Living… Why Not?

While Sitting In Church…

After spending a typically enjoyable morning in church and listening to a great message, my older than it used to be body calculated that it could be about time to exit the area, but the pastor sharing with us the message decided to share something else…

A Video

During the process of explaining how a team of from our church returned to Karogoto, Kenya to help out in an effort there to be a blessing to others, he…

  • Shared the video
  • Gave an explanation of what was going on there.
  • In the process raised his hand and told about a bracelet he had — and that we could wear as well.
  • And if any of us felt comfortable in sharing only five dollars to make a difference in the lives of others in Kenya, we could do that by giving…

Only Five Bucks.  Just Once.

Now here’s one of the neat parts: if you gave your five dollars, you received a bracelet with a child’s name of it from Kenya that was personally written by a child there.

And…

You signed your name to a bracelet and they would then be worn by children there as well as kind of a “bridge” between the folks there and those that had given from around the world.

(Side Note: It is my understanding that the exchanging of bracelets is not available through online donations)

You Can See It Here…

Okay, click here to see what I’m talking about –> ThinkBigStuf
Everything is explained much better than me trying to share it with you. Please take time to watch the short, inspiring video. But my point is...

“We Can Strive To Make A Difference While Striving To Make A Living”

  • No, I am not saying we have to do it at this location.
  • And this is not some type of poorly crafted guilt trip to say we must give.

But what I am saying is that as I saw that, and as I am wearing my yellow bracelet thinking about what transpired in church, I am saying…

Maybe my sharing here might find someone else who says…

  • “Yep, that’s me.”
  • “My heart is there.”
  • “I could do that.”
  • “I think I just will!”

Or your responses might following this line of thinking:

  • “That gives me another idea.”
  • “Maybe I could…”
  • And you are off making a difference in your own unique manner in your own unique place…
  • While influencing others to do the same.

No Pressure.  Just A Thought.
That’s it.  My small contribution to making a difference as of today’s date.
Maybe yours will take the form of a compliment given, a resource shared, a helping hand to someone who needs some marketing help, a child who needs attention, a spouse who needs encouragement, or someone else who needs to hear “the hard things said” in order to move forward in life.
Or…
You enjoyed the thoughts and feel in your heart: “Nice thoughts, but I’m on my own journey today and it does not include the whole ‘making a difference’ idea.  At least not today, at this time or in this place.”  And that is how I would want you to feel: content and rejoicing at the heart level during this stage of your life.
Either way: fine!

And By The Way, If You Would Enjoy Being An Encouragement

if by any chance you would decide to share five dollars or pass on the idea/link to others, it would be cool to reply and let me know here. At least cool to me!

You kinda no my mantra in this post: “No pressure. No guilt. Only as you might feel comfortable.”

But as I was creating this post, I thought: “Why not see if anyone would not only share in some way but share a simple ‘I enjoyed that and I _________’ response of some sort.

But beyond that…

  • Does this give you any creative ideas for “making a difference while making a living?
  • Would the thoughts prompt any journal entry for some reason or another?
  • Maybe the video itself just gave you a ton of ideas on how to market something you have been thinking about creating?
  • And what about your own blog post?  Give you any ideas?
  • Or, possible, this prompted an idea or two relative to family developing and the whole idea of “giving back” as it is termed.

May these brief words of mine prove to be a blessing for you and those you love in one way or another.

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
