Attraction Marketing Excellence – Common Sense Insights On Climbing The Success Ladder

The Ladder Of Success

Today I am sharing with you a guest post from Natasha Nassar.  Recently she engaged her readers regarding some personal thoughts on the topic of being a successful business person.  In her article entitled Climbing The Ladder Of Success, Natasha’s story woven in with her insights made for some great reading in my mind.

Before Your Read…

  • Settle down.
  • Relax.
  • Take in the story involved.
  • And see how you could help yourself or others who may find themselves somewhere on the playing fields of their own business adventures.

Here ya go…

Climbing The Ladder Of Success
by Natasha Nassar

Where are you situated on the ladder of success?

Are you jumping from the bottom rung of one ladder to the bottom rung of another ladder, or are you climbing up?

Mr. Glankler And The Success Ladder

A close friend of my family, and the co-founder of one of the oldest and largest law firms in Memphis passed away a few years ago. He was one of the most well-respected individuals in all of Memphis, and I would venture to say in Tennessee. He was a “great” man, a term I reserve for people who dedicate their lives to making a difference in the lives of others and living their lives in an honorable way.

I learned so much from Mr. Glankler over the years, and a lot of it came in the form of mottos. One in particular, on the topic of success, is so powerful that I just had to share it with you. He said:

“The ladder of success

is only crowded at the bottom, so keep climbing, but with honor”

When you think about it, everyone who joins a business does so with the intention of succeeding. When they do so, they are at the bottom of the success ladder.

The statistics don’t lie. The vast majority will stay at the bottom of the ladder, while only a small percentage will climb up to the top of the ladder and attain “success”.

For the most part, the difference in the person at the top and the person at the bottom isn’t that one is a “super recruiter” while the others are simply doomed to fail. Not all “successful” people are 100% extroverts blessed with the gift of selling.

So, what makes the difference in success and failure?

They Don’t Quit

As the old saying goes, “Successful people do what unsuccessful people are unwilling to do”.

The successful people don’t quit. No matter what is thrown their way, they continue to climb the ladder.

The “rest” crowding the bottom of the ladder CHOOSE to be there.

  • They make the choice to remain at the bottom every time they choose to watch TV over attending a training seminar or reading a book to improve their business.
  • They make a choice to remain at the bottom every time they read a great training book, and then choose to leave it at that: instead of taking the action steps recommended in the book.
  • They make that choice when they decide to spend their valuable time researching whether or not their company is doomed for failure instead of spending their time building their business.
  • They make the choice to stay at the bottom when they choose to quit at the first sign of adversity.

Sadly, those who hop from business to business THINK they are hopping “up” the ladder, when in fact, they are hopping from the bottom rung of one ladder to the bottom rung of another.

They Grow In Honor

Another important aspect of Mr. Glankler’s motto is moving up the ladder with honor.

Mr. Glankler was a true man of honor. He was wounded on the island of Peleliu fighting for our country at the age of 17. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his valor. He was a brilliant trial-lawyer who dedicated his life to helping those who couldn’t defend themselves. Even after he retired in 2004 at the age of 78, he kept a watchful eye on justice by parading the banner of injustice in regard to predatory lending. He helped to pass the Predatory Lending Bill in Tennessee.

In everything he did, Mr. Glankler conducted himself honorably. This is what made him a great man.

That’s why it’s of the utmost importance to me (and hopefully to you) to grow your business in an honorable way.

  • Don’t hype the opportunity to prospects,
  • Don’t fudge the time and effort it takes to succeed in this business,
  • Don’t exaggerate income potential.
  • Don’t value the power of the buck over the well-being of another individual.

If you know someone is in a desperate financial situation, I wouldn’t go for the sale if you know they don’t have the ability for whatever reason, to do what it takes to succeed…unless you let them know on the front end that it takes time and effort to get the money rolling in.  I would (and I have) told them to get a job first if possible.

Help steer them in the direction of an opportunity to perhaps start for free, and then purchase the “deluxe package” once they have generated enough money.

And most of all, if you know the business isn’t a right fit, don’t be afraid to say “no” to the prospect. At the end of the day, you’ll feel better for doing the honorable thing.

The Moral Of My Story

The moral of the story: continue to do the daily tasks necessary to build your business, and I’ll look forward to seeing you at the top of the ladder of success!

Encouragers…An Inspirational Quote by Lee Wise

Encouragers…

All Of Us Need Them.

All Of Us Need To Be Them.

In this brief video I share with you an extremely simple quote on being an encoruager.

It does not matter what sphere of influence we find ourselves traversing in at the moment – attraction marketingself development, or simply living in the best way we can for the best reasons – the importance of encouragement can hardly be underestimated.

  • Relax.
  • Look.
  • Listen
  • Enjoy.
  • And… respond below if you like!

Digging A Bit Deeper…

As you think about the subject of being an encourager — or the place encouragers have played in your own life —

  • What aspects of being being encouraged have been most beneficial to you?
  • You may be a trainer of others in a business or an educational setting of some sort.  Should you need to inspire those under your care regarding the importance of being an encourager to others, what would share?
  • Any insights you should share or record for yourself while thinking on this topic?
  • Gratefulness and encouragement go hand in hand, obviously.  Listening to your heart right now… does that comment say anything to you?  (It may or may not, lol.  I just thought it was an appropriate question! The question is a “no guilter.”)

Now Go Ahead… And Share!

Please share this post with others if it has been a positive influence for you in any way!

Desire To Be A Positive Influence?

Desire To Be A Positive Influence?
(Thee Simple Steps To Begin The Journey)

© Lee Wise All rights reserved

There are many ways of growing in your “influence level” with people.  These three steps are by no means inclusive… as you will see.

But they can serve to get you mentally involved in several of the many, many facets involved with influencing other people for all the right reasons.

Are You Clear About What Your Desire?

If you are seeking to be a positive influence in the life of another person, the first point is relatively simple:

Be clear about what you desire.

If another person seems to be blocking your influence in their live — for whatever reason — asking a simple question may help.

Such as… “Do they clearly understand what I need, want or desire in this situation?”

True confession: sometimes I am not as clear as I should be.  A child may not truly understand what a parent wants or a worker not be clear on the roles or tasks you would like he or she to be involved in (if you are the boss).

So, clarity is one thing.

But also do a motive check.  Why do you want this done?  And how important is it to you at this time?

Can you influence someone by simply “letting it go” and building the relationship that way?

In other words: seek to understand first.  Self understanding.  It goes a long way when you are trying to move forward in the “influence level” of your life.

Take A Look On The Inside… But With Others In View

Here’s what I mean: are your expectations correct?  What you think others are expecting of you — or from you — are these expectations…

Correct?
Accurate?
Based on truth?

Or could they possibly be clouded by your own “inside matters” in some way or another?

Sometimes being an influence on other people can take place just a bit more as you  simply realize that you can’t expect to “have it all right, all the time.”

You want to influence others by giving a speech or training them in some activity.  Maybe you are beginning a new adventure…

And the “but I’m not prepared enough” or “polished enough” or “expert enough” mental games you are playing inside are hurting who you could be as you try to be a positive influence in the lives of others.

Strive For Consistency, But Don’t Get Too Disturbed Along The Way

Allow your determination to move you forward … even in the midst of mistakes, wrong turns, or what could be seen as roadblocks.

  • Do it better the next time.
  • Adjust, readjust, and move forward.

Learn, grow, develop and share with others along your journey.  I don’t know how many sales pages I’ve read on the internet that contain stories about long, hard, learning-as-they-go times… until they made the first encouraging result.

My point: to be involved in the art of influencing others we strive to be consistent and move forward but we are also aware that we will not be perfect in our path of doing so.

Taking It With You…

  • Are you clear about what you desire?
  • Are your expectations accurate?  Can you move forward with the current ones?
  • Are the hardships may be facing hindering or helping you get better and move forward?
  • What do you see your next steps to make in terms of becoming a better influencer of people?  Will you begin to take them?

Inspiring Others

Be An Inspiration!

Inspiring Others
© Lee Wise

The art of listening to your heart speak
about speaking to the hearts of others
in a variety of creative ways
for a variety of heart felt reasons.

Listen Well To Bless Well

A simple thought for you: listen to your heart well for the purpose of sharing well.

Why?

Because in doing so you capture your heart for the purpose of sharing your heart with others who may be moved in a positive way by what you share, how you share it, and when you decide to do so.

Let me repeat: because others may be blessed by…

  • What you share.
  • How you share.
  • When you share.

We inspire others by sharing the inspiration we feel.

True, the art needs to be…

  • Developed
  • Refined
  • And worked on over time.

But it can — and should — be done.

Take It From Where You Are

Take the inspiration from wherever you find yourself at the moment to wherever the inspiration leads you.

Create your own moments for blessing the moments of others.

Take this post, for instance.  The quote you read at the top of the page came into being simply because in my relaxation I reflected about the what inspiration means, thought about being a positive influence to others through one of means I have to do so (this blog), and began to write.

I linked together…

  • A moment
  • With a core motivation (to be a positive influence in the world)
  • With a means (my blog).

What Could — Or Should — You Link Together?

What is…

  • Your moment
  • Your motivation
  • And your means?

We inspire others by who we are, who we purpose to be, and who we are becoming in the process.

Who are you?  Who are you purposing to be.  And who are you becoming that you could be an inspiration to at this stage in your life.

Not only is this something worth thinking about: it is something worth doing.

Wishing you all the best in all areas of your life,

Lee

Renegade University

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
