One Month Of Comment Luv – One Month Of Blessings

Attraction Marketing Blogging Comments

One Month Of Comment Luv –

One Month Of Blessings

And A Big “Thank You!” To All!

This has been an interesting month: a blogging challenge month. And while I may relate more of the benefits in another post, I felt the more “personal side” of the challenge by going back and reading a number of the comments posted on my blog over the last 30 days.

My plan here is simple, although not without a small amount of apprehension on my part. Why? Because in this post I plan to:

  • Share a number of the comments posted on my blog.
  • And make my own comments about the comments at the end.

“Well, Lee, that’s simple. So why the anxiety?”

Answer: because I can’t quote everyone! You see, I truly mean it when I say that I appreciate the folks that have taking the time to drop by, read, and make thoughtful comments about what I have posted. For me, reading over the comments has been:

  • Encouraging.
  • Insightful.
  • And meaningful.
And with that said, I have to relate to all who have made comments that they were truly appreciated but I felt that all could not be included.
I was forced to select some and leave out others.
That’s my anxiety. That’s my choice. And I hope no hard feelings remain because of my choices.

Comment Luv And Comments About The Luv

I think what I will do is simply to share several posts with you and then make my comments afterword. Now, if you are a blogger and working through the whole idea of blogging for prospects and blogging as a part of “reflecting the real you” (branding yourself), then what I would do as you read down through this list would be to:

  • Get out a notebook, pad of paper or create a document.
  • Get into a “learn and grab” the ideas mode. And, I would suggest to aspects of this: (1) record the obvious ideas; and (2) record the ideas that touch your heart.
  • Visit some of the days during the month of August — not so much to read my articles but to catch the quality comments that I have been fortunate enough to find left on this blog… and continue the process of idea gathering and listening to your heart.

Okay, Here We Go!

  • Note: the links are those given by the posters at the time of their comments
  • Any italics added are mine. Just highlighting various things that stand out. I may take one or two examples in another post of mine and “tear them apart” in terms of sharing with you what lessons I learned through reading them.

From Faith Barnard

“Hello Lee,

This is a very extensive list of questions to pose to ourselves to truly reflect on our lives and the direction we choose for our lives.

What came through was balance and priorities. Through evaluating every aspect of our lives we can see our journey from a wider perspective.

Stepping back if you will and taking in our choices and our priorities. Giving us an important perspective to examine if there are areas that can be expanded and adjusted to mirror our hearts desires.

Thank you for this thought provoking post. What an amazing journey we are on. I look forward to your future posts as well.

Faith”

From Natasha Nassar

“Wow! Great post Lee! I love the part where you said:

“Can you influence someone by simply “letting it go” and building the relationship that way?”

That was the exact advice that I needed to hear- funny how it works that way, isn’t it?

Looking forward to reading more from you!

Natasha”

From Alicia

“I found this so helpful. Wish I had read it when I had my last business because as it grew to a full time job I found I was spending less and less time with my family. I let the love of my business define my self worth instead of my family. It was a learning experience and one I don’t want to happen again. I know better now.”

From Karen Wilson Wehrle

“My husband has a legally-blind aunt who’s almost 90. She’s such a sweetheart her family cast her out and she lived in a nearby state for most of her life. She outlived all her enemies and returned to her hometown five years ago.

What happened? She brought the remaining family together! She sees the good in everything and everyone. That’s such a powerful attraction that no one can resist her. We meet other family members as we visit with her, and we’re getting to know each other. What a gift she is to us all!

I just had to share that. And of course, I’m emulating her!”

From Mari-Lyn

“Thank you for the simple suggestions and reminder for us serial entrepreneurs, like me. I tweeted it out for you. It’s so important that I keep intouch with my personal as well as my business relationships.”

From Kelly Baadner

“Lee,
The only thing I want to say here is “PREACH IT!!!”. :)
I hope you “feel” my passinoate shout-out here! :)
I am sharing this post via FB & Twitter!
Kelly”

From John Zehr

“Great blog. Your commitment to service is evident. My first-born just left for college. I wish I’d read more books and blogs like yours before he left.”

From Sye Wells

“Lee, I love this post (as always, it’s my joy to read your content and share it) . I love how you carved time out to write in your gratitude journal. What if everyone had one? This is an powerful intentional choice and action, to decide to not just think about what we are grateful for, but to write it down and actually share it.

I have made it a part of my daily action plan, to write down and share with someone.. what I am grateful .. “right now”. Hey I think you are on to something… product.. “the Gratitude Journal”. xo :) Life is great! Sye-

From Tracy Rissik

“Thanks for this thought-provoking article, Lee.

Hmmm…
Question Number One: What one small thing — anything – is (or could be if repeated over time) is holding me back from being my best today?
==> not taking proper breaks, so I get more tired more quickly

Question Number Two: What “something” — one small something — is hindering me in just one area of my life today?
==> not filing things!!!
(that one really resonated!)

Thanks!
Tracey”

Several Of My Lessons/My Responses

Good night! Can you see why I loved reading back through the responses over the past month?

Responding/Learning/Growing I Would Say…

  • Check out the Heart Responses. Wow. What makes a great comment on a blog? Answer: one from the heart.
  • Complimentary. In their own unique manner they were complimentary. Sincere, appreciative comments. What makes a great comment on a blog? Paying sincere compliments. Not trumped up. Sincere.
  • Genuine Interaction. People thinking, responding, taking action, etc. What makes a great comment on a blog? Thoughtful interaction.
  • Saying Who You Are in your business and in life. What makes a great comment on a blog? Sharing in such a way so that people want to visit your link, see what you are doing, or enter into dialogue with you.
  • Sharing A Story from your life or from the life of someone you know, love, appreciate, etc. What makes a great comment on a blog? Answer: story telling!
  • Sharing Good Ideas And Content. What makes a great comment on a blog? Think about it. Someone could read through just the comment I shared — let along the others that are there — and receive good tips, ideas, examples and advice on how to live better! So the answer is: short, well said comments that impart information, reveal skill sets or encourage others.

Time To Visit Your Heart

I have shared with you several ideas above relative to my reflections/lessons learned from reading over my commenters’ thoughts. Now what about you? I sincerely hope you took my advice and the ideas are flowing.

  • What did you quickly catch? I mean, what immediately caught your attention as you read through the sample comments?
  • What inspired you?
  • What encouraged you?
  • If I were to ask you: “Now, quick, give me your top 3 to 5 ideas gained or lessons learned about making significant comments on a blog” how would you respond?”

My Sincere Thanks!

Once again, I am very grateful for all the folks who stop have stopped by, shared and left a small part of themselves here on my site.

I’ve tried to learn myself about how to become a better blogger and how to become better at making quality comments on the blogs of other people by reading through all of the comments that have been left.

My Thanks also goes out to the following commenters in the month of August (in no particular order): Christina Leo, Heather Bestel, Jim Campbell, Evelyn Roberts Brooks, Larry Pollock, Martha Giffen, Stephanie Tanner, Marueen Wielansky, Kareem Williams, TeamCurtis Family, Judy H. Wright, David, Sheila Atwood, and Ligia.

A Brief Quote For Your Consideration

On Beauty Of Gratefulness

In the reality of being grateful

lies the beauty of not only seeing as we should

but in becoming the persons we should in the process.

Tweeting For Influence-Tweeting For Excellence

Excited About Sharing!

Tweeting For Influence.
Tweeting For Excellence.

While reflecting on several thought provoking words that had just passed through my mental grid of the moment, I wrote the following:

“May our words bring healing, our thoughts peace, and our actions harmony. © Lee Wise”

I then…

  • Read them again,
  • Noted my “Yes, I like that!” response,
  • Decided they were good enough to share,
  • And sent them out as a Tweet.

Question: Why Did I Send Out That Tweet?

The answer to that question lies in the process found below:

  • One: I found myself in a reflective mood.
  • Two: My reflective mood led me to more of a creative writing mode.
  • Three: The right words came at the right time. I felt what some might term “in the flow.”
  • Four: I sensed a desire share what I wrote.
  • Five: So I shared it!

Hold On, This Will Make Sense

I listed the five points above for the purpose of helping you “unpack” the meaning of what I will share with you in this brief article.

But for now the point that I wish to make is that in essence I shared my “content” not only because of the process named above but because it:

  • Represented a segment of who Lee Wise is,
  • And it allowed me to express my desire to influence people in a positive manner.

In other words, it provided for me a form of positive self expression for a very personal reason.

Said In Another Way…

  • Who I was,
  • And who I desired to become,
  • Prompted me to fulfill in a very small way a purpose of mine.

In other words…

  • I capitalized on my desires and talents (who I was),
  • Seized the moment to develop my writing skills (who I desired to become),
  • Felt that the words could influence someone in a positive manner (thereby fulfilling my purpose to be a positive influence in the world,
  • And I sent out my Tweet.

“So, Lee: What’s This Got To Do With Me?”

Great question, and a relatively simple answer.

I wanted to prompt your thinking about deciding on purpose to express who you are through your Tweets while continuing by design to be positive influence in the world as you do.

You may be already doing that, I realize.  But then again you may not or you may not be where you might like to be.

I remain far from any sign that reads “Twitter Marketing Guru Here.”

Do I Tweet in an attempt promote various resources that could allow me to experience some level of financial gain?  Of course.  After all, I am an author, coach and consider myself to be an attraction marketer!

Which means, of course, that I Tweet in order to:

  • Promote.
  • Influence.
  • And develop my skills as a writer.

But not necessarily in that order.  Quite honestly, the latter two dominate a great deal of my “mental Tweet time.”  (Am I the last and greatest example of Tweeting for influence or using the resource as a tool for developing personal excellence?  Of course not, but I try!)

Something To Think About…

I know this post will not capture the attention of many, many folks: it’s simply “not where they are.”

But I also feel that a few folks will identify with the basic concept of…

Utilizing a common tool for the purpose of enhancing their efforts to influence others in a positive way, in their own unique manner:

  • Spurned on by their own motivation.
  • Inspired by their own dreams.
  • And challenged by the thought of “doing a bit more for a few more people.”

That’s It!

Should you feel that my simple post complemented a desire or your own or prompted some additional thoughts about giving to others from your heart, it would be neat to hear from you.

By the way, my “Tweet” handle is @Lee_Wise

The Power Of Affirmation In Business And Life

The Affirming Power Of Affirmation

“The Power Of Affirmation

In Business And Life”

The Life Affirming Power Of Affirmation

Yes, I know I used two of the same concepts together: by design.  I relate it as such because we instinctively understand, need and relate to “the life affirming power of affirmation.”

May I offer one among many quotes on affirmation?  It may help to think about affirmation in this manner:

Affirmation

Gifting the sense of worth to people

by creative design and purpose-filled resolve.

© Lee Wise

I would like you to keep that quote in mind — and your own sense of what being affirmed means to you and those around you — as you read through the very brief listing of what I am terming “I can” statements of affirmation.

My reason for sharing these brief points with you will serve serve as a…

“Review of the obvious
for the obvious to rule”

And what on earth do I mean by that statement?

Answer: I mean it as a creative statement to stay with you for the purpose of using the obvious power of affirmation to rule, or take place, as your heart leads you to do so while reading through the list below.

“I Can Statements Of Affirmation”

As you read through the following statements, I know you will tend to modify, change, think of ideas, and possibly reflect on your past or dream about the future.

That’s the point!

Your perspective is your life.  Business. Home life. Parenting. Attraction marketing. Relating. Coaching. Training. Influencing. Working at home.  Educational pursuits.  The whole enchilada to to speak!

Read. Reflect. And respond as your heart directs.

Now on the the “I can” statements of affirmation.

  • I can affirm potential.
  • I can affirm a person’s “first steps.”
  • I can affirm abilities.
  • I can affirm choices.
  • I can affirm giving or encouraging.
  • I can affirm positive patterns of behavior.
  • I can affirm community service.
  • I can affirm progress in anything.
  • I can affirm extra effort.
  • I can affirm patterns of communication.
  • I can affirm helping, healing or caring.
  • I can affirm positive thinking and living.
  • I can affirm heart attitudes that affirm others.
  • I can affirm when people “Pay It Forward.”
  • I can affirm a forgiving spirit
  • I can affirm teamwork and selfless energy.

You Got The Picture!

Embracing a “personal affirmation perspective,” you can use its life giving power to affirm…

  • A variety of things
  • In a variety of ways
  • For a variety of reasons

And you can do so in business and the business of life.

Additional Questions To Prime The Proverbial Pump

  • How has the power of affirmation — or lack of the same — influenced your life?
  • Are you training others?  Does anyone on your team need to be affirmed?
  • This next week, how might you put on your “affirming eyes” for the purpose of enhancing the lives of any of the ones closest to your heart?
  • What values could you affirm this week (or in the future) in the lives of people?  How might you do that?
  • The subtitle of this site reads “Harnessing the power purpose and skill development for social marketing excellence.”  Should you be an attraction marketer in any way, shape or form, how might you use the power of affirmation in your own business world this week or in the next?

One More Time

Affirmation

Reply Or Respond…

Several “brain food” questions for those on the business side of life:

  • Anyone in your organization that you feel could benefit from these brief thoughts?
  • Are you in a mastermind group of any sort?  Could you benefit by doing some “affirmation brainstorming” regarding the nature of your group and your influence?
  • What about any of your blogging efforts: could you develop and share your own, personalized thoughts on the value of affirmation in business or what I so often term as “the business of life”?

May these brief words of mine prove to be a blessing for you and those you love in one way or another.

Attraction Marketing Excellence – A Facebook Syndication Example

Tribe Syndication Blogging Attraction Marketing

Attraction Marketing Excellence

A Facebook Syndication Example

Interested in learning about attraction marketing and/or especially the idea of whole idea of what is being termed “Tribal Syndication“? I would suggest that you head on over to Sye Well’s recent post entitled The Facebook Syndication Project.

My General Observations

From this side of the fence it will be a short post.  What I wanted to do was to share with you my personal reflections from my perspective as an attraction marketer.

  • First, it was an experiment.  She stepped out and decided to try something simply to see if it worked.  My point: she took a measure of risk.
  • Second, and I think the major point for me, was the sincerity of her presentation relative to not only complementing those who posted their links on her page, but also taking the time to be very clear regarding what she saw to be the value of other people’s work. Honestly, when I saw the length of the video I began to think “Well, I may not be around here long.”  But as I began to catch some of her comments, I found myself thinking: “I wonder what she is going to say next?”
  • Third, she gave social marketing tips along the way.  Whether it was related to the whole idea of tribe syndication or simply how to make use of comments, as she made her way through the video she dispersed helpful content relative to how to be a success in your own syndication efforts.

Expanding A Bit More…

At the risk of being repetitious, I would like to highlight several thoughts which may be good for many of us to remember as we continue to learn and grow in the art of attraction marketing or marketing online in general.

  • Sincerity attracts: and it should!
  • We can point people in the direction of other people and feel comfortable in doing so.
  • Think like an “educator” when blogging.  In other words, help people to learn from what you say whenever and however you can.
  • Take advantage of current trends: i.e., right now it is video marketing.
  • Keep learning.  You ask: “Where did you get that from, Lee?”  Answer: from the last point. If we are to be taking advantage of current trends, then we will be challenged to keep learning and growing ourselves.
  • Build others up.  I bring this up as a separate “insight” because it her example stood out to me in this area.

Thanks, Sye!

AI can’t imagine your not traveling over to her post and listening to what she has to say.  And when you do, may I encourage you to take the time to make any positive comments that you make think of?  Again, you can go here.

Making A Difference As We Make A Living — Why Not?

Making A Difference

As We Make A Living… Why Not?

While Sitting In Church…

After spending a typically enjoyable morning in church and listening to a great message, my older than it used to be body calculated that it could be about time to exit the area, but the pastor sharing with us the message decided to share something else…

A Video

During the process of explaining how a team of from our church returned to Karogoto, Kenya to help out in an effort there to be a blessing to others, he…

  • Shared the video
  • Gave an explanation of what was going on there.
  • In the process raised his hand and told about a bracelet he had — and that we could wear as well.
  • And if any of us felt comfortable in sharing only five dollars to make a difference in the lives of others in Kenya, we could do that by giving…

Only Five Bucks.  Just Once.

Now here’s one of the neat parts: if you gave your five dollars, you received a bracelet with a child’s name of it from Kenya that was personally written by a child there.

And…

You signed your name to a bracelet and they would then be worn by children there as well as kind of a “bridge” between the folks there and those that had given from around the world.

(Side Note: It is my understanding that the exchanging of bracelets is not available through online donations)

You Can See It Here…

Okay, click here to see what I’m talking about –> ThinkBigStuf
Everything is explained much better than me trying to share it with you. Please take time to watch the short, inspiring video. But my point is...

“We Can Strive To Make A Difference While Striving To Make A Living”

  • No, I am not saying we have to do it at this location.
  • And this is not some type of poorly crafted guilt trip to say we must give.

But what I am saying is that as I saw that, and as I am wearing my yellow bracelet thinking about what transpired in church, I am saying…

Maybe my sharing here might find someone else who says…

  • “Yep, that’s me.”
  • “My heart is there.”
  • “I could do that.”
  • “I think I just will!”

Or your responses might following this line of thinking:

  • “That gives me another idea.”
  • “Maybe I could…”
  • And you are off making a difference in your own unique manner in your own unique place…
  • While influencing others to do the same.

No Pressure.  Just A Thought.
That’s it.  My small contribution to making a difference as of today’s date.
Maybe yours will take the form of a compliment given, a resource shared, a helping hand to someone who needs some marketing help, a child who needs attention, a spouse who needs encouragement, or someone else who needs to hear “the hard things said” in order to move forward in life.
Or…
You enjoyed the thoughts and feel in your heart: “Nice thoughts, but I’m on my own journey today and it does not include the whole ‘making a difference’ idea.  At least not today, at this time or in this place.”  And that is how I would want you to feel: content and rejoicing at the heart level during this stage of your life.
Either way: fine!

And By The Way, If You Would Enjoy Being An Encouragement

if by any chance you would decide to share five dollars or pass on the idea/link to others, it would be cool to reply and let me know here. At least cool to me!

You kinda no my mantra in this post: “No pressure. No guilt. Only as you might feel comfortable.”

But as I was creating this post, I thought: “Why not see if anyone would not only share in some way but share a simple ‘I enjoyed that and I _________’ response of some sort.

But beyond that…

  • Does this give you any creative ideas for “making a difference while making a living?
  • Would the thoughts prompt any journal entry for some reason or another?
  • Maybe the video itself just gave you a ton of ideas on how to market something you have been thinking about creating?
  • And what about your own blog post?  Give you any ideas?
  • Or, possible, this prompted an idea or two relative to family developing and the whole idea of “giving back” as it is termed.

May these brief words of mine prove to be a blessing for you and those you love in one way or another.

Adding Your Singular Touch Of Influence To The World Around You

By The Sea

Adding Your Singular Touch Of Influence

To The World Around You

A “Small Town” Visit

Beaufort, North Carolina is small waterfront town.  Many might term it “charming.”  Personally, I prefer the term “nice.”

Nice as in a relaxing, slow down and enjoy the moments of life manner.

Rich in both history and the natural beauty of a seaside atmosphere, it qualifies as one of our favorite places to visit when possible.

Nice like savoring the flavor of a fresh, delicious tuna sandwich with your special someone while allowing the calming presence of a beachfront view remind you one more time of what it means to “take time to live.”

“Personally Yours By The Sea”

You could pass it by and not see it.

The sign is not huge by any standard. A few words painted on a wooden marker: “Personally Yours By The Sea.”

The size of the sign could easily be an indicator of the size of the gift shop it is advertising.  In a word: small.

An area less than the measurements of an average living room houses the contents of “Personally Yours By The Sea, Ltd.”

Should you discover this somewhat hidden treasure, upon entry you would no doubt receive a warm Southern greeting from Laura Lee.

Personally Yours By The Sea is a place of transformation.

You give Laura Lee a blank picture frame, for instance, and she will transform the frame into a personalized gift. She will convert the once ordinary, run-of-the-mill frame into your own “signature of joy.”

By combining a thought or two of your own with Laura Lee’s handiwork, the frame becomes a uniquely designed souvenir or present created for the sole purpose of causing someone to experience a moment of joy each time it is viewed.

Moving Forward With The Imagery…

What was a blank picture frame becomes a *personal expression* of beauty for you or someone special to you.

Quite obviously, this procedure takes…

  • Some time.
  • A bit of reflection.
  • And a dash of creativity.

We Own Our “Personally Yours” Stores

You might say that we each own a store — not too unlike the one in Beaufort.  We are the sole proprietors of our own “Personally Yours” establishments.

As the owners of our unique establishments — our “stores,” — we have the power to use our resources in whatever ways we choose.

We, like Laura Lee, may add our unique signatures to the lives of people we influence.

By choosing to do so we can create and distribute personalized moments of pleasure, encouragement and hope to others.

It All Adds Up!

Laura Lee has been personalizing her gifts for a number of years now.  My guess is around twenty years (or maybe more!)  Let’s say twenty.

Twenty years.

Pause and reflect for a few moments: at least long enough to reflect on my question:

I wonder how many individualized moments of hand crafted happiness Laura Lee has passed on to others over those twenty or more years from a tiny gift shop located in a small waterfront town that goes by the name of Beaufort?

And…

Where do you think these expressions may be found now?  I can name at least two states where two personalized gifts are located: and I am just one person. One out of how many?

My point: over time it all adds up.

Think Of It As Compound Influence

We know the value of compound interest.  Consistent investments — even of relatively small amounts of money — made over a long period of time can “add up.”

But wait!

Think about the “compound influence” we have in the lives of people.

Influence travels over time similar to the way in which those personalized mementos purchased from a small waterfront town in North Carolina have “traveled” to who knows how many homes in any number of places around the world

If There Is A “Secret,” What Might That Be?

Answer: consistency.  That’s the secret of compound influence.

  • Some time.
  • A bit of reflection.
  • And a dash of creativity…

Repeated consistently throughout our lives.  Small, caring expressions of joy repeated again and again over time.

Not a new concept.

And certainly nothing brilliant.

But valuable and needed in world where truth, beauty and goodness are being attacked with a regularity we would rather not have to deal with.

Holding the thought of “compound influence” in mind, let me ask:

“How’s The Store?”

Do you have too much inventory?

Stated in a more traditional fashion: are you allowing your gifts, talents and abilities to lie somewhat dormant in the back room of your heart?

Or…

Is your inventory being consistently used to brighten the lives of people that come to mind for some reason or another?

Two Last Thoughts

For the shear sake of repetition…

How’s the store?

And…

Are you utilizing your tremendous value of compound influence?

Several “brain food” questions for those on the business side of life:

  • Or, reversed:  If you are sending out “distinctively you messages,” are you assisting anyone else in your team to do the same?
  • Same question for your blogging efforts: personalized, straight from the shelf, or somewhere in between?

What You See Is What You Will Give

What You See!

What You See Is What You Will Give

Yes, I said, “give.”

  • If you see beauty, you give beauty to others.  If flows from within you to other people.
  • If you see potential, you will tend to give the gift of potential to people — including yourself.
  • If you see personal worth in people, you will release from within the inner sense of being worthy to others.

Developing the art of seeing good things will enable you to be one who constantly gives good things to others.

Then at least in your little corner of the world you will have created pockets of better “space.”  Spaces of…

  • Joy.
  • Beauty.
  • Caring.
  • Sensitivity.

What you see is what you will give.

The question is, “What do you see?”

Encouragers…An Inspirational Quote by Lee Wise

Encouragers…

All Of Us Need Them.

All Of Us Need To Be Them.

In this brief video I share with you an extremely simple quote on being an encoruager.

It does not matter what sphere of influence we find ourselves traversing in at the moment – attraction marketingself development, or simply living in the best way we can for the best reasons – the importance of encouragement can hardly be underestimated.

  • Relax.
  • Look.
  • Listen
  • Enjoy.
  • And… respond below if you like!

Digging A Bit Deeper…

As you think about the subject of being an encourager — or the place encouragers have played in your own life —

  • What aspects of being being encouraged have been most beneficial to you?
  • You may be a trainer of others in a business or an educational setting of some sort.  Should you need to inspire those under your care regarding the importance of being an encourager to others, what would share?
  • Any insights you should share or record for yourself while thinking on this topic?
  • Gratefulness and encouragement go hand in hand, obviously.  Listening to your heart right now… does that comment say anything to you?  (It may or may not, lol.  I just thought it was an appropriate question! The question is a “no guilter.”)

Now Go Ahead… And Share!

Please share this post with others if it has been a positive influence for you in any way!

Desire To Be A Positive Influence?

Desire To Be A Positive Influence?
(Thee Simple Steps To Begin The Journey)

© Lee Wise All rights reserved

There are many ways of growing in your “influence level” with people.  These three steps are by no means inclusive… as you will see.

But they can serve to get you mentally involved in several of the many, many facets involved with influencing other people for all the right reasons.

Are You Clear About What Your Desire?

If you are seeking to be a positive influence in the life of another person, the first point is relatively simple:

Be clear about what you desire.

If another person seems to be blocking your influence in their live — for whatever reason — asking a simple question may help.

Such as… “Do they clearly understand what I need, want or desire in this situation?”

True confession: sometimes I am not as clear as I should be.  A child may not truly understand what a parent wants or a worker not be clear on the roles or tasks you would like he or she to be involved in (if you are the boss).

So, clarity is one thing.

But also do a motive check.  Why do you want this done?  And how important is it to you at this time?

Can you influence someone by simply “letting it go” and building the relationship that way?

In other words: seek to understand first.  Self understanding.  It goes a long way when you are trying to move forward in the “influence level” of your life.

Take A Look On The Inside… But With Others In View

Here’s what I mean: are your expectations correct?  What you think others are expecting of you — or from you — are these expectations…

Correct?
Accurate?
Based on truth?

Or could they possibly be clouded by your own “inside matters” in some way or another?

Sometimes being an influence on other people can take place just a bit more as you  simply realize that you can’t expect to “have it all right, all the time.”

You want to influence others by giving a speech or training them in some activity.  Maybe you are beginning a new adventure…

And the “but I’m not prepared enough” or “polished enough” or “expert enough” mental games you are playing inside are hurting who you could be as you try to be a positive influence in the lives of others.

Strive For Consistency, But Don’t Get Too Disturbed Along The Way

Allow your determination to move you forward … even in the midst of mistakes, wrong turns, or what could be seen as roadblocks.

  • Do it better the next time.
  • Adjust, readjust, and move forward.

Learn, grow, develop and share with others along your journey.  I don’t know how many sales pages I’ve read on the internet that contain stories about long, hard, learning-as-they-go times… until they made the first encouraging result.

My point: to be involved in the art of influencing others we strive to be consistent and move forward but we are also aware that we will not be perfect in our path of doing so.

Taking It With You…

  • Are you clear about what you desire?
  • Are your expectations accurate?  Can you move forward with the current ones?
  • Are the hardships may be facing hindering or helping you get better and move forward?
  • What do you see your next steps to make in terms of becoming a better influencer of people?  Will you begin to take them?

Affiliate Notations: I am affiliate of many, if not most, of the links and products that I suggest, recommend, or refer to on this site. For example, when I refer to the resources Renegade University and Renegade Professional, I am an affiliate of the organization that supplies those resources for the benefit of so many people. Also, if you see a banner on my site you can almost count on me be an affiliate of that service or product. By way of an example, the banner for the QuanSite that I use and very highly recommend: I am a very happy affiliate. Here's a "safe" way to look at it: just consider links affiliate related. Of course, many are not, but just view it that way for disclosure's sake. It’s really the best of both worlds: I enjoy being free enough to not only recommend a product or service that others may benefit from but also to have the potential of earning funds from the same resource. Cool.
