Ya know, sometimes you just feel you should do something, and for me that was making this post.  Not sure why at all, lol!  I went to wait till later and felt I should post the quote today… for no real, solid reason!

So if you happen to run by this and enjoy it, great!  While I’m at it I’ll add a few thoughts and come up with a title — but the main reason for posting is the quote itself.

Giving And Attraction Marketing Excellence

As you know from reading my comments in other places, one of the reasons I appreciate the whole concept of “attraction marketing” as it’s so termed, is the idea of sharing things of value: one form of giving if you please.

Therefore, I guess some related questions we could ask ourselves as we forge ahead in the pursuit of becoming and reflecting excellence in our lives and businesses, would be:

  • Am I giving where I can?
  • Am I giving when I should?
  • Am I staying in touch with my heart so I can recognize when, how and where to give?
  • Am I content with giving “little” when I can’t give “much?”

Today I was browsing a post by one of my favorite people, Ann Sieg, on The “New” Model of Team Building over at the Renegade Professional Blog.

Tucked away in that excellent article was this brief statement that, I thought, in and of itself is a great “take away” for brainstorming on how to become and maintain being a person of value in the attraction marketing process:

Here are 12 other ideas for increasing your personal value to make yourself irresistible to prospects and potential business partners:

  • Expertise: What you know
  • Expert status: What you are KNOWN to know (there’s a BIG difference)
  • Skill: What you do
  • Productivity: What you get done
  • Efficiency: HOW you get done what you get done
  • Effectiveness: Opportunity selection and how well you do what you get done
  • Organization/Multiplication: How you get things done by means other than manual labor (for example: creating content all by yourself or having others help you with it)
  • Influence: What you can get others to do
  • Relationships: Who you know
  • Celebrity Status: How well you are known (by your target audience)
  • Reputation: What others know about you
  • Vision: What you see that others don’t

What I personally liked about this was: (1) first, it was a summary list which can be very helpful; and (2) the list in and of itself could provide someone a way to focus on what means (or could mean) most to them in their internet marketing business endeavors.

You will hear me say in the video below on this subject, that it’s extremely important — or something to that effect.

I want to expand up on that just a bit here. It’s important because I see the essence of good, professional attraction marketing as always working toward the goal of “heart to heart” communication with our audience.

We look for ways to share who we are as persons with those who may be appreciate and identify with what we are marketing or communicating that we truly want them to heat.

In other words, we attempt to begin or continue a “heart to heart” relationship at some level.  This establishes a relationship, opens the door for building additional trust, and of course can lead to a long term relationship with and audience that are, at varying levels, friends.

Learning The Power Of “Story”

Reading this in a recent post got my attention:

“Folks, I branded myself, built my website, managed the newsletter and then made HUGE MONEY in direct sales – while working 40 hours per week as a high school science teacher!”

Taken from Melanie’s post entitled “What does this Woman know about the power of persistence?,” I learned several lessons in my journey to discover and practice more about excellence in my journey of attraction marketing.

Two Immediate Lessons

The power of a personally based, well written:

  1. Title
  2. And “Summary-leading-to-action” sentence. (Isn’t that a great sentence? Totally motivating.)

Several Additional Lessons About The Power of “Story”

  • “Personal” is always good — if it’s a good story and if it’s told well.
  • Transparencey — with control — is very good. Transparency out of control is what? Answer: disaster.
  • The importance of reflecting the whole idea of “being real.” In sharing her ups and downs (and somewhat in-betweens), I felt like: “real person, real journey, not fake.”
  • Links included in the post without being a totally annoying link overkill in the process! Enough to take not of them and possibly arouse curiosity, but stopping very short of annoying.
  • A well designed sequence within the framework of the story.

And Speaking Of A “Well Designed Sequence,” Here’s The Sequence

  1. Saying how things “were.”
  2. Moving from there to “how things began to change.”
  3. Then on to “how things are now.”
  4. And finally “here’s how to see if we could be a team” (i.e. the invitation).

What will you take away from this short review of important aspects to consider when telling our stories for the purpose of making and impact or creating a favorable response on the part of the hear(s)?  Make it happen: record on your own or think through three ideas now.
